I am not sure which is making me feel older today - My eldest son being 25 or it being 42 years since this was on TOTP and I remember it so well
I'm guessing none of you music Philistines are likely to be fans , but Porcupine Tree have reformed after 10 years. More of this hopefully!
Local band formed in the late 80's I saw them play a couple of times in pubs and community halls , I've got a cassette of Insignificance somewhere in the loft
P I've got a couple of Wilson's albums , the raven that refused to sing and to the bone on the insistence of a mate of mine who is prog mad , and a couple of years ago picked up a CD of Jethro Tull locomotive breath that he had remixed, I hadn't noticed it was a remix and thought I had picked up a dodgy bootleg copy of the original
Just received an email , Porcupine tree are playing Wembley SSE Arena 11th November 2022 ,tickets on sale tomorrow ticketmaster
I started getting into them around 2009/10 just as they split! Never got to see them the first time round so was intent on getting tickets for this. Seen SW a couple of times at the Royal Albert Hall. Great gigs, but always hoped for PT to tour again.
Liolnel Blair has died, aged 92. RIP. It was either a member of The Clash or The Damned, who used to recall an incident on the Anarchy Tour. A number of extremely hung over, dishevelled band members were sitting in a hotel lobby, waiting for the coach. In swept Blair, resplendent in an all white outfit, complete with fur coat... "Morning boys! Welcome to showbiz...!"
Another trouper from old school show biz gone , we will never see the likes of them again , in our house he was known as Lionel Blur due to the old mans dislike of show biz types Me and Mrs Conn saw him on one of those Warner's weekends I thought oh know but he was very entertaining which was more than could said for the original Drifters with a combined age of four hundred
