Haven't posted much music lately, this beauty appeared in my earshot earlier got home and played more of the same - but this a great song
Stonking band mate, always loved this track, lost my copy of this Years ago when we had to leave a party in Harrow very fast due to the local thugs wanting to kill us
Famously punched out Jagger when he introduced Watts as his drummer, walked off saying you're my ****ing singer and don't forget it
Wyman and Watts smoking hot in that. Personally could do without the Barry Gibb impression from Jagger. This is them at their absolute peak imo. Wyman doesn't get the credit he deserves (ditto the jail term for his personal life)
Just read that Ronnie Wood played bass on that track, did not know they swapped around like that. Great sound though.
It's wretched and horrible and sounds like his foreskin is stuck in his zip...but so good is the playing on this track, that I love it.
RIP Charlie Watts. Got to say I love the early Stones with their Chuck Berry covers. Those early 4 or 5 albums are gems. That was when R&B meant R&B.
Seeing tributes for Charlie Watts brings this to mind... ...sooooo much The Damned.....'Oh yeah, David Bowie and Lemmy too'....
BBC4 had a very good night of reggea Friday topped off with a documentary about David Rodigan , all on iplayer now
Caught the Marley in London documentary. Did you see the Stones one on a bit later? I'd not seen it before and it was really excellent. Good to hear from all of the band in it, great live performances, too.
Sad news that Lee Scratch Perry has passed , what a life lived and a legacy left, I will be wearing a tin foil hat tonight ? RIP LSP
News coming thru the community stations that the Upsetter has departed this plane. From all the children of the Upsetter riddim, we thank you. So let us begin with the landmark (possibly the first reggae track recorded) ...
