As my old pioneer deck had seen better days and needed a new belt and cartridge I brought a new deck with a USB function waiting for my son in law to come round after lockdown and link it with my computer, tried but had no success
I kept the old deck for sheer nostalgia reasons and the fact it really pisses of Mrs Conn when I keep stuff just in case <laugh>

Mrs B just accepts that stuff now...apart from the wood store at the back of the garage. That drives her nuts...especially when I fish timber out of skips or come home with "yet another pallet". <laugh>

On the Bluetooth issue, you can buy something like this for £20 - £25...

Plug it into your amp and your old system is suddenly great again for the whole family. I got a 5 speaker Technics system for £40 on ebay that originally cost well over a grand. The CD's iffy and I had to buy pinch wheels from China for the tape...but the sound is fantastic and with this gizmo in it, you can play stuff from phones, tv, laptops etc....even my girls are impressed.

On The Damned fan sites, the amount of coloured vinyl re-issue you see is gob smacking. Yesterday, someone posted up 3 differing versions of a collection issued in the '80's in green, silver and yellow...

    Plus, 2 reissue singles...

    ...all imported from the States.

You'd possibly be amazed but even I have a point at which the answer is "**** off".

Thanks for the heads up on the Blue tooth device Brian, skip diving for old wood and stuff, if it was an Olympic event I would get gold , I once pulled out a pair of mid century modern Danish dining chairs that I sold on Ebay for £225 and the same skip gave up some white friers glass and a nice pair of German angle poise lamps
I got busted this morning by Mrs Conn, ordered 4 albums and they all got delivered at the same time by the postie, oops I put it down to stress of losing to liverpool

    Hello Pop-Pickers....

    It's Numero Uno, Top of Pops...No 1.

Shamefully it's a hoodie (or two) that are possibly not proper licensed merch, purchased from RedBubble. I'm not for this sort of thing normally but....I wanted a hoodie to celebrate 40 years of The Black Album and the official site didn't come up with anything at all. Over Lockdown I've struck up on-line friendships with the guy who prints their merch and the lady who runs the official store...so I'm going to make some suggestions for future products.

I got it (them) on a 20% off deal but it was still pretty bloody pricey...until...it turned up with a fault in the weave on the shoulder and....they sent me a second one and let me keep the original! Happy bloody birthday or what?

Ladies and Gents, I give you...a mixture of the front and rear cover designs...

    Oh yeah,

Although the chart is over...(I know...I know...how will you cope?)...there are actually 2 additional shirts that I didn't include.

The first doesn't really fit me - it was a freebie from the 30th anniversary of DDD, a gig at the 100 Club in 2007.

The second is a brand new/old stock purchase (in the last week or so) from the bloke who prints the band's merch.

I'll be posting them in a day or two....you lucky people!

One of things I like about vinyl is that you have no choice but to play the songs in the order that the artist wanted. I frequently these days play music in random order and self created playlists. But there is no doubt that many albums are best played in the 'correct order.'

Another thing I miss are some of the quirks of vinyl, as an example the gap between Little Boy Soldiers and Wasteland on my vinyl copy of Setting Sons is without question the longest I know of and the CD always seemed to get to Wasteland to quickly, ridiculous as that may sound!

    Ill-educated.

You have no choice but to play the songs in the order that the
    VINYL PRESSING PROCESS demands.

Been the case for aeons for trying to get an LP on one 12" vinyl.

Thanks, for educating me - But I think that for example the songs on Tommy play in the order that Townshend wanted them.

The Tommy LP is "double vinyl".
Far more leeway on the track ordering (assuming there are
not reams of long tracks - an affliction that you see manifested
on "dance" music LPs put out on vinyl) .

So as most of my favourite albums are made up predominantly of songs between 2 & 4 minutes long and generally had about 12 tracks, they are quite likely to be pretty much in the order that the composer chose.

I don't listen to much dance music!

Anything over two minutes is wasted
