Edgar Wright's put together a HUUUUUUUUUGE Ennio Morricone playlist on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5Vcrdrl3ZbBCcVUHhW8ZJs?si=c2O4lKSsTF2oHjUn7SXwBA
The guy that wrote The Devil Went Down To Georgia has died. I got a bit of a shock when I saw RIP Charlie Daniels trending on social media, but it's not our former player, it's this guy.
For a moment on Twitter, I thought it was our former youth FB who's played for Bournemouth for the past eight years
Tom Meighan left Kasabian yesterday due to "personal issues": https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-53319170 Yep, he personally beat up his fiancee in front of a child and it doesn't appear to be the first time, either. What a ****.
Paul Weller has joined Lennon and McCartney by having a number 1 album over 5 decades, chapeau Mr Weller
I'm baaaaack......finally got some paid work for a week. Okay, it was away from home, ****ing hard graft and not for the best money but beggars can't be choosers..and I've got 2 kids and a serious peanut and G&T habit to support... I see that in my absence you guys have picked up the slack as Damned correspondents. Excellent work! First up, I didn't see the T Rex/Damned tour. It's one of my major gigging regrets. I saw the boys a number of times before Brian left but would have given a couple of non-essential body parts to have seen that tour. Second, Captain was particularly taken by Bolan and upon hearing of his death, he wrote what was later used as the intro to 'Smash it Up' or Part I as it's listed on the album and here... In interview, Sensible has recalled that his mum said to him..."That bloke you're friends with has died..." and then couldn't recall Bolan's name or anything about him, so Sensible had to run out to buy The Evening News to find out which of his friends was dead! Mothers! Addendum: The original album version is the last track on Machine Gun Etiquette and the run off plays "Nibbled to death by an okapi" said over and over again, narrated by Peter Jones. As those of a certain vintage will know, that was the unfortunate fate of Arthur Dent's brother in The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Next week, in run-off surgery advice, we'll address...Just what is "A Porky Prime Cut"...?....Have you got one?.....If so, do you need to worry and what should you do about it?
Welcome back Brian, not seeing anything from you had me worried that you had fallen in a tank of gin and were drinking your way out What the hell do you think you're doing spreading the word of the porky prime cuts, this could ruin the lives of vynyl junkies who do not know the way of George Peckham on the spiral scratch
If I fell in that tank, I might not want to climb out! An excellent article on 'Porky'. https://punkgirldiaries.com/2018/06/12/whats-a-porky-prime-cut/ I love the...“This is the worst record I’ve ever cut” comment...
It seems that a 2 year old tweet about Porky Prime Cuts is suddenly hot again... I can't imagine why...?
Evidently, it's not for everyone.......but Porky Talk has reached The Captain... Such a shame that he had to sell his records...
I was 15 and begged my old man for the money to get a ticket to see Santana at Wembley , he gave me enough for the concert but I had to ride my bike from Watford to Wembley pool , One of the best concerts I've seen, Carlos came on stage in a white suit , sunburst red Les Paul and the backdrop of this album and proceeded to rip the place up for nearly 3hrs , I got home at 3.00am
