I've had a bit of a wobble over the last few days. Only going out to go to the mother-in-law's, the shops and the odd walk have taken their toll. A couple of nights ago, I dreamed that I was a salamander...honestly. I need a trip to the pub and live music...so,here are the boys playing some covers, minus Paul but with Brian, from '88 reunion gig. I'll sort the pub thing out tomorrow. Enjoy...
I think I was having the same wobble Brian, my Mrs caught me about to put a Simply Red CD on but thankfully she had a chunk of surgical 4x2 to hand and beat me too my senses and managed to calm me with Paul Wellers 1st album and a large G&T STAY SAFE PEOPLE THIS DANGER IS REAL ......
From the considerable time that I've spent in second hand record shops, they are THE artist that you see most often. That's all you need to know about them.
I much prefer James Blunt. To be fair to the former rhyming slang-ee, he does laugh at himself and he possibly helped to prevent postpone World War III.
RIP Tony Allan another great gone, he was getting good air time on 6 music with his collaboration with Hugh Masekele on Never(Lagos Never gonna be the same) a tribute to Fela Kuti , Hugh Masekele died only a few weeks ago, Afro beat has lost 2 of it's greats
On Friday, I watched the Slade at the BBC retrospective. Amongst the favourites and No 1's, they played this one, which tends to get forgotten but is a great song... ...and leads on to this... One thing that I didn't know or have forgotten - Noddy Holder was contacted by AC/DC as Bon Scott's possible replacement but he turned it down...
Slade were one of those bands from that era that put in the hard miles up and down the motorway playing the top ranks and civic halls , great choice of tracks Brian to show that the band were not just glam and misspelt lyrixxx I've got a lot of time for the shows that Noddy does on the radio
And they went for a Geordie from the band Geordie, instead. Are there similar bands called Cockney, Scouser or Brummie?
There's The Cockney Rejects and Cockney Rebel and London but after that, I'm done. It must be something to do with this 'Geordie Nation' thingy...it didn't stop them from being not particularly good and at a time when that music was really 'hot', alas for them, they weren't.
Every day I hate this virus a little bit more RIP Dave Greenfield a unique talent one of the greatest keyboard players of all time - So saddened by this news I will listening to the Stranglers for the rest of the evening.
Very sad indeed. A huge part of the Stranglers (although in truth, not a great kb player) and probably the reason they lasted beyond the '76/'77 punk period. RIP DG!
