Yeh there were some great bands around that time used to to think the smiths were the dogs bollox

 

I saw the Mission support the Cult a couple of years ago and the version of Tower of Strength they played that night was about half of their set!

 

I particularly like this one as i was there - Hyde Park July 2002

 

Great version of this song - I would take Marriott over Jagger every day of the week

 

For me Paul Weller is The Jam. It's like watching John Thaw - he is Regan in The Sweeney; he's not Morse or anybody else. I don't care much for what followed.
So new entry at no.1..... the first time since Slade.

Mostly, no. I went for The Pogues and Psychobilly when Punk got lost. Strangely though, I loved The Smiths who I saw live about 10 times including this night.....

 

So good, they played it twice.

Just like John Peel with this....

 

And he did it with this too...

 

So many great songs it's hard to pick a favourite but that's entertainment was awesome

 

Speaking of The Pogues (much championed by Peely), I like this....

 

Seems a great way to finish for tonight - thanks, some great music shared here and a whole new playlist created - Now i really must do some work!!
