The one that brought the mash-up to the ears of the perceived hipster crowd (Xfm listeners etc) : The one that brought the mash-up to the sheeple (she did a version of it at the 2002 Brits and AFAIK Erol Alkan never put his original that he made for playing at Trash out on vinyl ) :
In advance of the forthcoming Hollywood Vampires/The Damned gigs at Wembley, you get something slightly surreal like this posted... The references to Depp's previous relationship with Croydon relate to Kate Moss dragging him around places like Surrey Street Market [What us fellas will do for a shag, eh?] For those who haven't tried for a ride on 'The Moss', it was the former home of Beano's - Europe's largest second hand record shop and still the location of the ultimate 'spit & sawdust' market boozer, The Dog & Bull, where I took the current Mrs B for a drink on our first date and where Moss & Depp lunched on Leo's sausage baps. I wonder if they put 'White Rabbit' or 'From a Jack to a King' on the jukebox? In honour of its first hour in the light of publicity since Reeves Corner was set alight, I give you this...[recommended to jump to 0:46 as the preamble is **** and goes a long way to trying to ruin a decent homage to his home town]. It was the follow up single to 'that one' and 'the one that came after that one and was even more annoying'.
Totally understand the concept, thanks - just think there are some things that should never be replicated or tinkered with - and this is one of those!
3 weeks ago. The Damned live in Paris. An unusual combination of decent pictures and okay sound. I would say that this is them on a decent night these days... I saw them on Youtube from the Hollywood Vampires gig in Birmingham this week, where they played the covers band into a cocked hat...but as Dave said to the audience..."you probably haven't got the slightest idea who we are, have you?"
Depp's a big Ramones fan and is involved in organising annual Johnny Ramone tributes That calls for a song by da Brudders Love the demo versions
I went to see the Tina Turner musical last night. Mrs B got ridiculously cheap, fabulous seats. It's a decent night out and the leads playing Tina and Ike are bloody excellent. She's had a fascinating life and a wonderful voice but her catalogue of songs isn't that great, as she spent too long being battered into submission by Ike. That said, this is ****ing joyous..... Unfortunately a **** audience, including booing and a fight in the first half. The place was full of assholes. Essex must have been empty
