I'm not the biggest Bowie fan but I'm off to the Indigo Room at the 02 in Greenwich tomorrow to see a tribute act with a mate who is and he tells me that they are very good......so a couple of personal preferences.....
Off the "Scared To Dance" album and a staple of their live shows. Too young to have seen them live - although I did see the late Stuart Adamson with Big Country. One of the best UK punk/new wave bands
They were a headliner at Rebellion this summer and almost tempted me to attend but we went to the Madrid game instead. This is great
I saw Big Country too, but they were supporting The Jam on their final tour so we didn't pay much attention - at the time I recall saying I guess this lot are Scots first band that I have heard to play guitars that sound like bag pipes!
I saw them supporting Bowie at Wembley stadium. Mid 1980s, I guess. I enjoyed them. The songs In a Big Country and Look Away were excellent.
Unbelievably its 15 years ago today that we lost Joe Strummer, most of his good stuff can be found scattered throughout this thread
Suzi Quatro, Andy Scott (Sweet) and Don Powell (Slade) A trio with a combined age of 206! Still making good music
