    It's tedious.

Both comments in my post were factual and in no way attempts at WUMing <doh>

You need to look within your own ranks for the real WUM culprits :p

I was actually directing my comment towards Super Injunction, in the main.
CG closes threads that are either irrelevant or degenerating into stupid spats, though.
Your claim to the contrary is far from a fact.

Spurs fans WUMing the Arsenal board isn't something that I can do anything about, bar having a word.
I'd suggest that you take it up with Piskie, but you don't seem to want him to do any moderating.

Of that list, he signed Gallas, Kaboul (twice!) and Bassong...

As for Samba, he's just like Gary Cahill - forever being linked to us/Arsenal/Chelsea, but never actually moving anywhere.

    Levy signs our players, Croydon.
I'm sure that Redknapp has some input, though with his apparent lack of commitment I'm not sure how much now, but the chairman appears to have adopted big chunks of the DOF role.

    Levy signed Modric and VDV.

How is it one minute the board is bemoaning the squad is full of players Harry likes - or, in the case of Crouch and Defoe, his teachers' pets - the next he isn't involved in signing any players, not even the ones he signed when Pompey manager?

There's a bit of a continuity glitch in there somewhere...

I think it's just down to people assuming that the manager signs the players, Croydon.
Even with the van der Vaart transfer, Redknapp was quite open about Levy saying that he could get him if the manager wanted him.

Redknapp may have preferences, but the signings are ultimately down the the chairman.

    I know.

So some of you believe that Levy identifies what players he thinks the club needs, signs them and then its Redknapp's job to incorporate them into the squad with no input of his own.

That's why I mentioned VDV - because it's known Levy found he was available and told Harry, when it's usually the other way around (except in the case of Chelsea, obviously...)

Sandro is one that the scouts picked out without Harry seeing him play, which could've worked out badly. Taarabt badly...

Samba will not be a good fit for us, the high defensive line we play would not suit him. At Blackburn they do not attack in numbers like Arsenal. Its easier to defend for Blackburn then it is for Arsenal. If he came to Arsenal i can see quick forwards trying to expose Samba when he tries to join the high defensive line of Arsenal. Phil Jones would have been my first choice had he not gone to United, so i think we should try and get Phil Jagielka now, which we are doing according to most people in the media.

    No.
I think that Levy asks Redknapp what kind of player he wants and our scouting network finds some suitable candidates.
Levy then assesses the list with the finances in mind and then consults Redknapp.
I doubt that he'd bring in anyone that the manager declared unsuitable.

Didn't Redknapp basically say that our chief scout in South America literally put his job on the line by recommending Sandro so strongly?

Is it a coincidence that Phil Jagielka can also play in goal?

    Something along those lines.

I'm trying to work out if he's having a bigger headache because of Leandro than anyone else...

Suppose that helps if Szczesny gets sent off or injured and Wenger knows about Jagielka's GK skills so puts another attacking player on the bench instead of a 2nd GK.

Sergio Ramos is Real Madrid's 3rd choice GK, apparently. Not that unrealistic.
