Very enjoyable game. Fabulous finishes from Vards and Riyad Mahrez and a salutary reminder of just how good each is. Not sure whether Puell was deliberately playing to protect what we'd got in the second half but it always unnerves me when teams try to do that and I'd rather stay a little more ambitious and go for the third. That said, could just have been that Spurs started to get their act together. Very good win for us and hopefully we can push on - if we can maintain this form and with Silva being available in January - no reason that we can't aim for 7th and if somebody above that has a bit of a form slump possibly bang on the door of the top 6 - hope so - we are really exciting to watch in full flow.
My take on it is that we made you look good. No way was that the same Spurs that I have come to know over the last couple of seasons. We were dreadful. I’m not taking anything away from Leicester, as you can only play what’s in front of you. But what was in front of Leicester last night was ****e. I don’t think Leicester can read too much into that game. Poch, on the other hand, has got some serious work to do, or things could quickly turn sour for him.
Quentin has sobered up! We made you look better than just good last season by not playing a defence against you at ours, chuck The season before that, when you were "the same Spurs that I have come to know" we took 4 points off you, added a further 7 and finished 11 points clear of you ... in all honesty you have a better squad now ...
I wouldn’t disagree in the sense that we won the title by playing what’s in front of you. I do think we can read into it though as even if Spurs were sub par that should still mean we should beat many other sides in the division
Only 7 points off Spurs time for a chorus of ‘we’re coming for you’? 7th has to be the aim, with Burnley occupying it and is hosting them at the weekend it provides a great chance to close the gap to them. With Everton floundering it gives anyone the chance to at least be best of the rest or push for more
On that performance last night, we don’t deserve to finish top 4, nor will we. You could even finish above us.
Quents - nearly every team has a bit of a slump in results (not just form) during a season - you could have won the game last night if you'd taken your chances - alternatively the result could have been worse for you if we'd taken all of ours - particularly the one cleared off the line ... but Spurs currently, IMHO, have a better squad than both Liverpool and Arsenal for sure and arguably as good, if not better (certainly in terms of balance) than United and Chelsea .... only City seem to tick every single box ... and even they are human ... way too early in the season to be on such a downer sunshine
Spurs squandered 4 guilt edge chances last night, including 2 1 on 1's. I still think they are a quality side and will be top 4. I don't care what anyone says, Kane is world class, but I was disppointed with Ali last night...and why the hell they don't play Son is beyond me. Was that a cheer from the Spurs fans I heard when Sissoko was taken off? Vardy and Mahrez scored quality goals last night and Iborra just gets better by the game. I would have been happy with a point before the game, so delighted to get all 3. Not seen the penalty incident close up as it was down the other end from me. Now let's go and beat Burnley on Saturday and build on our latest victory against a very good side on their day.
I was disppointed with Ali last night...and why the hell they don't play Son is beyond me.
I have to agree. I would happily see us cash in on Alli, as I think he’s overrated.
Which is why I don’t like him playing for England. We have players with the quality just not the attitude, hence why the young teams have done well without the big pay packets
If you think that Terrence , you would also have to now admit that your LCFC spiral and it’s sister Spurs Juggernaut thread was just wummery at it’s worst
... this is true ... but Quents is unlikely to locate his "John Stones" and admit to it any time soon ... instead we'll need to endure the never ending volume of tedium endorsed by the sycophantic Skyrimmer attempting to convince us that his hero is some kind of wum genius rather than the rancid fart of mediocrity that we have become familiar with ... such is the price that comes with sheltered accommodation in Weymouth, I guess
I think Dele Alli is a typical overhyped overrated English player He is a very good player but nowhere near as good as the media make out
