What is happening to Gomes and that goalkeeping fella from (?) Croatia?
Will they be on their bikes in January?

Another question. Did Harry get rid of Crouch because he got sent off against Real and lost us the tie? I thought Crouch was a Harry icon.......
 
My guess is that it wasn't just down to Harry that Crouch went, the money that Stoke offered would have been music to Levy's ears. It really was an offer hard to refuse given Crouch would play 2nd fiddle to Ade.

Pletikosa? He was only on loan, he left in the summer. I don't think anyone will be in for Gomes in January, maybe he'll be loaned out to the SPL so we can recall him if needed.

I think even 'Arry saw that Crouch wasn't going to be good enough to keep up with our progress. Perhaps if we had CL football this season he may have been kept on but given that Crouch wanted to play regular football and his effectiveness with VDV only lasted half a season, he wasn't going to be a long term fixture for us.
 
Vorm's done well but it's too early to make him our first choice keeper and it's difficult to fully assess him so early in the season. I'd rather we waited a year or two before we consider him.
 
Friedel's contract runs until the end of next season.

Gomes leaving is almost inevitable, possibly a loan in January before a permanent move in the summer.
If we could get in someone as third choice to cover his absence and then address a long-term plan to replace Friedel in the summer, then that'd be the best move, I think.
 
i think stoke would only sign Palacios if they got got crouch too. & Levy would only sanction Parker if wilson went.
 
Does anyone know much about Dave Button? I know Alnwick is catastrophically ****e, but could he cut it as 3rd choice?
