    cheers King<ale>

I'd rather have Niko on my bench than scotty parker. He's younger, better reader of them game and can pass a lot better than Parker.

But he can't break up the play like Parker can, hate to say it but with Sandro looking like he might need easing back into the season after an op and no pre-season run-outs, we might need Parker

    Or Diarra...

I'd be happy to see Parker join Spurs, as I've said in the past.
Perhaps our current relationship with the bitter Irons could count against us there, though?

Diarra would be my preferred option

I'd not be so happy to see Parker join us, but I would understand it now (though I'd be pissed off if Sandro doesn't walk back into the team when he's ready!)

Didn't you know, the only teams allowed to strengthen their squads are Chelsea, Man Utd and Man City. For example, Cebalos is there to replace the Old Trafford-bound Van Der Vaart, and Pedroza Whitham is there to replace whichever one of our striekrs the papers are convinced we're selling this week...

    Two problems with this:
1.) In one of West Ham's many hissy fits of the past week, they said they won't sell any players to us ever again
2.) One of the papers saying Chelsea are after him - probably because other clubs want him (see also: Their sudden interest in Gary Cahill)

Granero plays on the right or behind the striker. If anything he'd replace Lennon or VDV.

Doesn't Cebalos also play in that position?

If there's any truth behind the rumour, then perhaps he's supposed to be competition for those two positions?
If van der Vaart were to drop into the deeper role that Modric currently occupies, then Kranjcar and Lennon would both have to fight to keep their places in the side ahead of Granero.
A bit of competition and squad depth couldn't hurt, could it?

We've got squad depth a plenty, it's proper quality we lack

Lennon should have Bentley, Pienaar, Dos Santos snapping at his heels but he doesn't. You have Sandro, Huddlestone, Palacios, Jenas all fighting for a place in the middle too. Then there is Kranjcar too, our squad is so overloaded right now. Could easily lose 4-5 of them.

    <applause>

Jenas, Palacios, Hutton, Bassong, Kranjcar, Keane, Dos Santos & Bentley all need to be shown the door asap.

Harry doesn't like these players so should sell them and then it frees up squad places for players he will actually use instead of loaning out to other clubs or leaving them to rot on the bench.

If Harry used the squad properly, then Niko and Bassong probably would be more than happy to stay but I can understand them wanting to go as it's obvious he doesn't like them.

I agree that we need to lose a number of our squad players, but that's because they either don't challenge our current first XI or haven't been given a chance to.

Hutton, Jenas and Keane aren't good enough any more, Palacios needs a fresh start after the terrible tragedy that befell his family and one of Crouch, Defoe or Pavlyuchenko should probably go.
Bassong will leave as he wasn't used enough last season, Bentley upset Redknapp by soaking him and Dos Santos never really got a chance, possibly because of his off-field antics.

If Kranjcar is willing to stay, hasn't burned his bridges with the manager and wants to fight for his place, then I'd be happy to see him back in the team.

I just wish we wouldnt hold out for so much money, it's unrealistic some of the fees we're asking. If we sold them at an average price of 4-5 million that's a 32-40 million return right there and you'll save 200+ thousand from the wage bill every week. You'll then have some breathing space both in terms of finance and squad positions so if a player like VDV does come along again you can slot them straight in and they'll be happy knowing they've got opportunities to play.

When there's talk of PSG bidding £14m for Palacios though, you can understand why we didn't sell him to Napoli for £7m.

KingHotspur.........I agree Jenas, Palacios, Hutton, Keane, Bentley and Dos Santos should be shown the exit doors. I have to say that Niko can still do a job for us and would actually like to see him still with us next season. The guy got us 6 points single handed. I also think that Bassong could be useful for the cup games and the Europa, he can help rotate at the back so that we can hopefully keep our better defenders injury free.

I didn't word my post right but yeh those 2 are the ones out of that list i'd keep as well but I can understand why they both want to leave and I don't think Harry is one to give players 2nd chances so for me I don't expect either to stay.

Last day of the transfer window is when I bet most of them leave unfortunately and we won't have time to get in quality or we will panic and buy someone for an inflated price.

Hopefully PNP, That's one rumour that has some substance to it. However, I tend to agree, that Levy seems to be guilty of hanging on for unrealistic prices, a lot of the time.

This is 90% likely to be a load of boll*cks, just like 90% of everything else in The Daily Fail.

Jenas, Palacios, Hutton, Bassong, Kranjcar, Keane, Dos Santos & Bentley are the players widely expected to leave, but I really don't think that they will be the ones to go

More likely it will be Defoe/Pav, Palacios, Hutton, Keane & Dos Santos, with 2 to 3 players coming in in their stead and one of either Kranjcar and you-know-who with a marquee signing coming in at same time to soften the blow.

Bassong and Jenas are the sort of squad players that most PL managers want to keep a hold of, and nobody will want to take Bentley for anywhere near what we would want to recoup off that frankly ridiculous price we paid!!
