Post city I think its worth its own thread.
This season we have seen a player wrongly sent off at west ham, a seriously soft penalty given against us v liverpool while being denied a penalty for a blatant shirt pull on adebayor. We were denied another blatant penalty v sunderland and v cuty 1 penalty was wrong as was the sending off.
Last season we had 2 or 3 red cards recinded cos the decisions were so **** and the previous season we we refused a penalty all season and the season prior to that was a similar story with us not getting a single penalty at home.
Then there was the no goals v chelsea (gomes fumble at their place and the non goal at wembley) and the long list of **** decisions v united.
I am not claiming we would have won any of the mentioned games but it does piss me off that we are constantly treated poorly by refs and **** all happens...for example how is hoy allowed to ref our matches after that disgraceful performance v stoke (allowing their first goal to stand even though it was hand ball...disallowing adebayor s goal when he was 2 yards onside, not giving us a nailed on penalty and as a result giving kaboul one of his bookings for dissent which later saw him sent off)...
In my opinion we need to kick off big time after every **** decision...can you imagine wenger accepting those decisions or jose etc.
I want us to scream and shout and make refs think twice before ****ing us over cos as it stands we are ****ed before the match starts.
 
I think it's sad that it has to come to that sort of thing, but the officials do seem to be easily influenced by pressure from managers and players.
Having a horde of ex-players as pundits also seems to help some teams, as they'll bang on about anything given against their old club.
 
I blame our soft approach of accepting everything the ref throws at us.......Chelsea and United are famous for roughing the ref up...I think we need to start that...however we don't have it in our DNA.....that is evident from the attitude we have during play.....aah well if we get a draw great..after all its a good team we are against attitude does not cut it.

apart from that....the refs are all top 4 bum boys..whoever the top 4 may be..im sure when we were up there for a season or so its felt like life was easier for us..i may be wrong though.
 
Add to that the time Cristiano Ronaldo won a penalty with one of his special tumbles in the area, which every fan in the ground saw was a dive when it was shown on the big screens. The response from the Premier League? We were banned from showing replays on our big screens.

I agree. Diving is the way forward, so is surrounding the ref and totting up fines for the manager criticising the refs.

We're well behind on this and it costs us.
 
Actually I'm getting fed up with watching matches (even those not involving Spurs) because the result is more likely driven by the mistakes of the officials rather than by the skill of the players.
And there is clear bias in favour of the top teams which is becoming ridiculous.

I thought the world's annual quota for ludicrous refereeing bias was used up during the World Cup.
 
It's not just the major decisions where the refs are favouring the alleged top teams. For example today, Ryan Mason booked in 33rd minute for a foul on Navas. Minute 36 Navas badly fouls Danny Rose but no booking. Minute 37 Eric Dier booked for foul on Clichy. When Navas finally does get booked (55th min ) it would have resulted in a red if the referee had acted fairly earlier. At this point City would have been down to ten men for the last 35 minutes with the score 2-1. This sort of favouritism goes on constantly for these teams and probably gives them 8-10 points per season in addition to the points gained from the obvious wrong penalties given to them and those not given against them. Everton and Spurs would have had several more CL seasons and nomads would have had quite a few less.
 
Mason's booking was absolutely ridiculous, too. It was a nothing foul. There are loads like that in every game.

We have won 3 from 8....west ham (currently 4th) and southampton (currently 3rd)
We aint **** imo...just inconsistent...and with 3 managers in the past 10 months with our current one only 8 league matches into the job that aint really surprising.
We have played 13 matches... won 6, drew 4 lost 3
That seems ok to me

I wasn't convinced that Dier's was even a foul. Clichy ran a diagonal towards him and tried to hand him off. Dire reacted by grabbing his arm and Clichy crumpled to the ground.

Milner's tackle in the centre circle, (I can't remember who on) was a definite yellow and not even given as a foul. he got the ball but followed through in a reckless manner.

I genuinely believe bad officials contribute more than 8-10 points. And that the winning ManU margin in his last season could easily be accounted for by nothing more than the "Fergie factor".
 
I complained a number of times about officials last season. But i'm starting to look at it from a slightly different point of view. We've conceded four penalties and had two sent of in our last two games against City, a pen and red in our last game against Chelsea and a pen in the game against Liverpool earlier in the season.

We have been on the end of soft decisions but those statistics alone suggest we are giving referees decisions to make. For instance today, after the first penalty we should have been aware the ref was blowing up softly, yet Kaboul lunges in stupidly and Fazio rather than tracking a run lazily pulls Aguero. If you give the refs the chance to give a penalty against you they will.
 
Both Wenger and Warnock came out against referees today-let's see what action is taken.

Warnock was questioning the non-booking of Terry. Terrible tackle but like Scholes in his time a referee favourite in not booking. WHY?

That was on Capoue, I think. Milner went right through him and clearly caught him with the following leg, then they almost scored from the break.

West Ham and Southampton may be 3rd and 4th but they have both only played one of last seasons top four (both have played Liverpool) while we have played three of them.
 
The standard of refereeing has never been so bad and Spurs are without doubt the club that has suffered the most with countless instances of bad decisions to recall year after year. Part of it is our players are too soft and too honest, other teams are constantly in the referees face if a poor decision is made against them and other teams are rewarded for diving, play acting etc.

I can not recall a Spurs player ever being rewarded with a penalty or having a man red carded for a dive like we have seen with other clubs, in fact it is usually the opposite when our players are booked for diving when in fact they have been blatantly hacked down.

The media and pundits have a part to play in influencing referees also, they bang the drum about being hard done by when their favourite clubs so much as have an incorrect throw-in given against them.

Take media darlings Liverpool for example, they are given countless soft penalties for diving, rarely concede a penalty, rarely have a player red carded and Slippy G gets away with murder etc etc, certain clubs are always given the benefit of doubt and it makes a huge difference.

Sadly for Spurs, it appears that it is all too easy for referees to give bad decisions against them, which are inevitably quickly glossed over and forgotten about.

Do you have stats to back this up?

We do get alot of decisions going against us but other fans will tell you their team have worse. All part of the pecking order and unfortunately we are not at the top. as you say Liverpool are and then Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and ManCity.

The media are hypocites as they will say a player should stay on his feet but when it is not given they say he should have gone down. (see: Hull's goal against Arsenal yesterday-Flamini should have gone down is what the pundits were saying).

I was actually calling for Eriksen to go down when he was through into the box with a player tackling him.
