The kilnsea cross stood there but was moved inland because of coastal erosion! It's now located somewhere in Hedon! Spurn as been threatened with being cut off for hundreds of years!
i believe spurn is rebuilt by the deposition of material eroded from further up the coast. occasionally it is breached and washed away, but it gets built up again, and plants take root, and animals return.
Maybe they should consider protecting the Hebridian sheep from having to swim in flood water. It's not like floods aren't expected. I don't know if they lost more in the recent flood or whether it was related to the earlier flood, it's a bit confusing with the different articles that have been mentioned here.
said on telly that someone is renovating the lighthouse as a tourist attraction.the workmen could,nt even get there yesterday!!!

Everyone going to the east Yorkshire coast for a Sunday drive should always take a small lump of concrete with them. Problem sorted.
