My son loves Kichri, especially Chick peas during Ramadan anything else he moans, The thing is he only does this during the time of Ramadan!
The other thing I am thinking of is making Chicken with Spinach, some fresh nan/bread, fruits, mangoes and salad.....decision decision Homer..

I always feel at the end of it all I aint done what I intended to do in the first place.
Just has a triple kebab![]()
You seem to eat a lot of pulses/beans/veggies
What's your kichri recipe? We do kichri with rice and mung beans when someone is not well
Rollin a Biff and having a can of Diet Coke, feels great, thanks for askin like.
Love how much closer as a family we are during Ramadan as we are eating together all the time. Mrs has been in UK so been fasting alone but she is back tomorrow - happy days.Yeah I know mate...people might not get this bit...but you miss the whole atmosphere during Ramadan once it's over. Calms me down...not as rowdy as usual.
Thats healthy and good for you mate...i try and eat as much healthy food as I can helps with my routine and training. You seem to eat a lot of pulses/beans/veggies

Start work earlier and finish an hour earlier here so everyone can get home by Maghrib. Mayhem on the roads but great seeing all volunteers handing out free food and water packages to anyone who wants them.
What age do your kids start fasting there? The 5 year old in our house fasts until Zuhur, then gets an hour to eat and drink, and then fasts until Maghrib again. They seem to love doing it at that age.

We tend to do various kichri to be honest, the most easiest and simplest one we tend to do is the rice, onion, bit of ginger, bit of salt to taste and touch of ghee. After fasting all day soft food is the best to eat so easier to digest as well. Thats very similar to what some of my Chinese mates do generally.
Then top it off with chick peas, veg and salad and stuff. The red meat we tend to eat veru little of once or two a week maybe, chicken a lot more than red meat.
He doesn't know, he's askin his wife. Flanders probably lecturing the poor woman right now as she tries to enjoy her first meal of the day.
How you with offal? Kidneys/liver etc
Not like pilau though, as its a bit watery like soupish..very much like haleem but in a very simple form. That sounds more like what we call pilau.
I like my veggies and dhal too but kids rule ramadhan so I let them decide
Today we had lasagne. With a bean mozzarella and tomato salad
I am from a family of meat eaters though so it plays a big part in our diet.

Always food typical Homer!Chicken liver, seasoned with salt n pepper, fried with onions and a handful of coriander thrown in a minute before serving.

We tend to do haleem often as well, especially during Ramadan its very good for you, either of these and the kids are happy as they relate the simple stuff as part of Ramadan to be honest. My eldest moans saying its Ramadan so we need to have kichri and chick peas as part of iftar, even when we cook or buy other stuff...
My kids grew up one these stuff and home made fresh veg and so on, none of that tin food. They will get fish and chips but the proper stuff none from those dodgy kebab shops lol
I am fine with kidneys, liver and so on am not fussy in that sense, i will eat anything thats halal, just try and keep it as much healthy as i can to be honest. Regular meat isnt good for you though, even prophet (saw) advised against regular meat eating habits not healthy ap cut down on the red meat mate if you can, especially the kids as they tend to have problems later on in life.
we know homer healthy living isnt your thing lolYou must log in or register to see images

Do hear excuses there tubby! Listen mate unless you want to look like Homer @Spurlock I would cut down on the meat lolThat makes sense. I think depending on where you are from different names are used to describe things. So biryani is basically pilau for me.
As for meat I agree too much meat isnt good but again its not quite like eating a 12oz steak on your own. Its more like taking a steak cutting it into chunks cooking it with a veg and eating it with chappatti or naan. So in a plate of sauce and a couple of chunks of meat
