@PISKIE thinks his daughter scoffing the spag bol like a tramp eating chips is a good thing. And that is why this country is in the toilet.
You're not from this country so you ain't qualified to say In my country scoffing chips like a tramp is revered.
I think somalians scoff sambusa tbf. Maybe even anjero but depends on the size. And if it's a special occasion scoffing halwa is a real treat.
Food Log: 4 piece fried chicken n chips slice of chocolate fudge cake after a few biffs for laytaz Allah O Akbar
Easy Saf Day 10 tomorrow...tbh...it’s not been too bad. I’ve had the odd day where it takes me into a crazy place mentally but hunger wise it’s been manageable...I’ve felt them worse at times in the past...next 10 will be interesting
my mum used to do that though on one occasion the old man intervened during a battle of wills over something she put in front of me for the 3rd day pointing out it was almost certainly unsafe to eat by now - in my estimation it had never looked safe to eat . The fact my old man intervened surprised me as he normally insisted on everything being ate with the words "merchantship men have risked their lives to bring you that " which always confused me when it was cauliflower cheese .
There's a limit...I wouldn’t do what Haslam does and give the kids cold food which is best served warm. It’s cruel, bullying and calling rank. The ex used to try it...he can have that later...Put cling film over it. Nope..he can’t...just like adults dont always finish their food. Just like adults can’t eat eggs pre heated 3 times or whatever...kids can’t either...it’s ****in nasty and certainly calling rank with some casual bullying thrown in.
Yeh I wouldn't make the kids eat anything which is too old but won't take any other arguments. "What do you mean you're allergic to nut? It's ok I have the epipen... now tuck in!" I'm a stickler for making sure they always finish what's on their plate. Put less on and take more if you want, but don't pile it on and then not finish.
thing is back then both , particularly my old man , would have remembered rationing and it stuck with them but my mum once she has got something in her head its difficult to shake tbf i was a little **** growing up and would deliberately wind her up i.e. be about 6 or 7 came home absolutely filthy so mum shouts " for Gods sake look at the state of you , . Go and get straight in bath and don't even think of not doing it immediately" so i did . After 5 mins she came in to check i had actually got in the bath to find me lying in a nice hot bath fully clothed .She didn't seem too pleased
kids are kids though init...they dont always deal with their situations in the best of manners. It’s a learning curve for them...guide them through to appreciate food. Not like Haslam...cruel Bully
Yeh agree, the wasting food is my hang up, not theirs. From growing up in hard times and eating what you were given and appreciating it. That was my learning curve. It's not theirs though so I had to adapt and take the approach that suits the time they're in. They've managed to take it on well tbf except one think which I'm still working on - given the choice of any dessert they'll always go for the one with chocolate ffs. It's not the chocolate I mind, but the fact they miss out on so many other great flavours and won't grow up knowing them. Made peach crumble the other day with them. They were dreading it before we made it. When it was made, a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on the side, they whoomfed it down.
