my local Asian Grocers...they get a daily delivery of samosas...twice a day. They go like hot cakes. People, including myself, ring up and get however many they want put to one side. The lady who makes them has converted the family garage into a kitchen and you can put in private orders.

    They are legendary round here

    60p a pop...nice and big too...generous filling.

That's a tremendous effort tbf. I can't last past 11am on toast for 7am breakfast!

I'd say plenty of carbs would be good. Porridge or rice pudding or sumnt like that. Get your milk in as well. But if you're not feeling the hunger, then it don't matter.

See that sounds quality. The frozen stuff I get is packeted in a frozen warehouse in Sheffield or somewhere.

Back in the day when I used to hop off the train from uni on the way home, I'd go in and buy them cooked for 30p each! Meat ones as well which I wouldn't do now unless I was sure it was the goodness, but place had a decent rep back then and the meat samosas were fcking lovely.

Its strange to think that it stopped only 4years before I was born. Probably explains why my parents used to get so upset when we didnt want to eat the food my mum had cooked.

We weren’t allowed to throw food away mate, ever. Absolute no no, that.

My dad (89 now) still collects leftovers and puts them in the fridge for the next day. He’s always had some weird stuff for lunch.

I was born in 1961 btw. Food in England was still pretty limited then. One of the reasons I’m relaxed about immigration. I remember how ****ing boring our diet was before curry houses and pizzerias started appearing in large numbers in the 70s. And you had to go to Chinatown in Soho if you wanted Chinese.

I use dates in my business. I make Date Syrup. It's wonderful stuff. Rich like molasses but packed with nutrients. It's also a slow release sugar which makes is low GI, so good for folk with diabetes etc

Can't beat dates, like natures toffee.

Sweet and sour fish and rice for my morning meal this morning, followed by a plate of fruit. Its amazing how after only one week of fasting it seems normal eating a meal like that at 3.30am. Have to make sure I get plenty of liquids down so a couple of big glasses of water and a glass of star fruit juice plus vitamin pills and set for another day.

Pray at 4.30am then back to sleep until 8.00. push the mother in law round the complex in her wheelchair then in the office upstairs by 9am. This lockdown is ideal - normally would have to be awake by six to be in office by 8am so hardly any more sleep.

I'm still like that with my kids now. On Monday my six year old refused to eat his scrambled eggs at lunch so it went in the fridge and was given to him as tea. If he asks nicely I'll microwave it for him. They eat what I make or they go hungry.

I don't keep food for days though. My mother used to keep it until breakfast the next day. Didn't eat your curry last night? Well it's the only thing you can have while your brothers are eating their cereal.
