The Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents Panel, which decided 3-2 that his second foul wasn't a yellow. Bit of a split decision really; I can understand yellow being given.Just to make things worse, ESPN are reporting that an independent panel has judged Jota's red card as incorrect as well.
Haven't seen it anywhere else.
They can only adjudicate on a second yellow, not the first apparently. The Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents Panel, which decided 3-2 that his second foul wasn't a yellow. Bit of a split decision really; I can understand yellow being given.
They also thought Jones was a red.
Spare a thought for Brighton though - the panel said that Villa's second and third goals shouldn't have stood and that Konsa should have seen a second yellow.
Agree. They can only adjudicate on a second yellow, not the first apparently.
I thought the second looked worse - even if there was no contact it was a lunge. The first was either no or minimal contact, but either way there was no intent. I guess it's all just Destiny.
Agree.
the first even had people seeking angles to "prove" jota brushed against the guy before he tripped himself up.
the back handers and favour club was massive.
it's all forgotten already. no actual apology not actual action.
no actual improvement
just a queue of refs out to get lfc every time.
The damage has been done, I am not in favour of replay, reoccurrence must be prevented in the future.
I'll take a replay if given. We were clearly victims of extremely bad decisions by officials, but... And I have to agree with you, a replay probably not a good idea.
If it sets a precedent and replays become a thing when refs screw up, it could lead to a real confusing mess. Titles will be won off the field as teams fight to get lost games overturned- how big a mistake by a ref before game is replayed. If every wrong offside decision, or every wrong card decision, are we going to be happy with seasons that are 48 games long?
You would have to decide who was going to score the OG tooCan’t replay. What happens do we have to go down to 10 men at certain point and then 9? Do we have to play same players? Farcical idea and hopefully can move on now we’ve played another game since.
