    I never understood what their problem was. They were/are steel stockholders. Hardly the business that gets passing trade.

    That's what the agency are paying sparkys, while they're probably charging £350/£400 a day for each sparky supplied.

    You'll get plenty of eastern Europeans jumping on those scaldy rates.

    Same crap over here. My Brother works as a distribution manager and told me that, in the last 5 years, the 35 drivers currently hired are now ALL eastern European, as the rates the company are paying are crap from an Irish workers perspective, but a windfall for guys coming in from low paying EU countries.

    Funny thing is though, the brother remarked that running expenses for the truck fleet have gone through the roof as there's not a day goes by without someone pranging a vehicle or running up numerous traffic violations. All because the company thinks it'll save money with lower hourly rates of pay, by hiring lunatic eastern European drivers. <laugh>

    He should thank **** they don't employ Thai drivers <laugh>

    The last job I took was a big hotel refurb in London and it took us a month to rectify all the **** the polish and romainians had ****ed up.

    I've worked with Poles on construction jobs and they are pretty thorough. Although starting on the beer at 7am doesn't seem like the best idea.
