that was a "**** me we sold Torres for £50 million so we need to get a replacement in at any cost" panic buy. if you had paid £20 million it would have been fair price imo for a big English striker and there aren't too many of them around. at least you sold him on and he is west hams problem now. he is probable worth **** all as always injured or about to be injured [he is like Diaby is for us!!]

Soldado is 28 and on a four year contract so has limited resale value. You would expect him to fall in value by £7m each year.
Despite that, with some of the others going up we'd get at least 100m if we sold all 7 today.

 

If you bought a new car though, you'd expect it to perform, otherwise it's just a waste of money

Also I don't think you'd even recoup 100m, I think it's more like Sir_Red's figure of 65m and even then he was being slightly generous with one or two players.
