Just an observation but dont most blokes get the misus to cook Xmas dinner, whilst having a quick liquid lunch down the local in the morn.

I've been a Chef all my working life & I've never seen such in depth analysis on sprouts!! Saute shallots, pancetta, roasted chopped chestnuts, garlic, thyme & sage with plenty of butter. Add cooked sprouts & season to taste.

How on earth do you put up with the match day catering if you are a professional? Any chance of opening up a little bistro in the Ellerslie?
Also lots of "bubble & squeak" with baked beans the next day. I'm also quite partial to Heinz baked beans on toast.
Scallops are one of my fav ingredients, what pudding are you using?Slightly O/T but I'm doing black pudding & scallops to start on Christmas Day now, prawn cocktail overkill
