Pompey are allegedly interested in signing 20 year old Australian starlet Nathan Matthews from Sydney FC. The 6' 5" tall centre half has a transfer value of £900,000. He has just completed his first full season at Sydney, and is highly thought of.
Apparently, Pompey have held talks with ex-Newcastle defender 32 year old Paul Dummett, who is a free agent after leaving the club at the end of last season. The 6' tall defender, can play at centre half or left back, and has 5 international caps for Wales. Sheffield United are also interested in signing him.
Our income for this season must have trebled compared to last season, otherwise where is the money coming from for the arrival of all these players/ Since the window opened we have seen the arrival of Archer Williams Silvera(loan) Potts (loan) O'Mahony ( Blair Abou Kamara Schmid Sorensen Josh Murphy Dozzell Ritchie Farrell This is in addition to those we retained from League 1 Norris Swanson Shaughnessy Poole McIntyre Ogilvie Towler Pack Moxon Stevenson Lowery Lane Lang Saydee Bishop Yengi Whyte Scully Devlin This is a conundrum for Mousinho!! So what I have done is highlight in red those who will play very little football for Pompey. Bishop, Poole and McIntyre are out for obvious reasons and I have not heard anything about when they could be considered ready for selection. As for the rest of the highlights they might not be considered good enought for the Championship and I feel for these players after having bust a gut to help Pompey get promoted. This would be mu first choice 11 of those who are fit GK Norris RB Williams CB Shaughnessy CB Towler LB: Ogilvie DMF Pack DMF Dozzell/Kamara RW Blair AMF Lang (Probably Potts or O'Mahony) LW Lane (all day long... He has a superb attitiude and work ethic Str: Yengi for me but will probably be Sorensen although Saydee has surely done enough to be given an extended run in the team. The likes of Swanson, Moxon, the two strikers not starting off, Schmid, Murphy, Stevenson will probably form the bulk of the subs bench!!
Well this is one way of extending our support around the globe. Who knows, next pre-season we go down under, play the sides there and perhaps a top PL side that is playing in that part of the world. It makes sense to me!!

Three departures from Fratton Park, with Haji Mnoga joining Salford City as a free agent on a one year contract, and (at last!) winger Anthony Scully joining Danny Cowley's Colchester United on a season long loan. This was followed by the permanent departure of Irish winger Gavin Whyte, whose PO4 contract was ripped up by mutual consent! All in all, a successful transfer window orchestrated by Rich Hughes!
EFL Championship side Portsmouth FC have this week snapped up highly-rated Derry City goalkeeper Conal McDermott on a two- year scholarship contract. Conal, who only turned 17 recently, had several suitors among top flight UK clubs this summer. He has progressed through the Academy ranks at Derry City, and more recently developed under the guidance of Derry’s Head Of Goalkeeping Michael Dougherty and the first team goalkeepers. Straight into the Pompey Academy, I would imagine.

Pompey have secured another loan move for goalkeeping prospect Toby Steward. The highly-rated youngster has sealed a temporary switch to National League Wealdstone, where he will link up with former Fratton favourite Matt Taylor, who is their manager. Pompey fans will remember the player well from last term, as he scored both Derby goals in their 2-2 draw at Fratton Park in April. Apparently, Oxford United are also said to be keen on the versatile operator , who can play anywhere down the right flank.
