    1) On loan left back Cameron Pring has been recalled by his club Bristol City, due to an injury crisis.

    2) Pompey said to be attempting to resign left back Steve Seddon from Birmingham City, after they recalled their player from his loan to AFC Wimbledon.

    3) Forward Jordy Hiwalu is wanted by fellow league One side Swindon Town permanently when his Pompey contract expires on 20 January. Pompey are to offer him a new contract, and he has apparently said he wishes to stay at Fratton Park.

    4) Former Pompey favourite Gary Roberts who left Wigan in the Summer, and who has been playing for Welsh non-league club Bala Town, has signed for Accrington Stanley.

    5) Fleetwood Town's loveable manager Joey "The Thug" Barton has left the club with immediate effect. What a sad loss to English football !!

Portsmouth and Queens Park Rangers have been linked with an interest in signing Welsh international midfielder Dylan Levitt on loan from Manchester United.

The 20-year-old spent the first half of this season on loan at Pompey’s League One rivals Charlton Athletic, but was recalled yesterday after making just five appearances for the Addicks in all competitions.

With Levitt keen to earn a place in Wales’ squad for their European Championships campaign this summer, Levitt is wanting to get regular minutes under his belt and it has led to him being linked with loan exits to both the Championship and League One.

Manchester-based journalist Jonathan Shrager has reported that both Pompey and Championship side QPR have expressed an interest in Levitt.

Southend United boss Mark Molesley heaps praise on loan Portsmouth forward Reeco Hackett-Fairchild after match-winning debut.

SOUTHEND United manager Mark Molesley heaped praise on Reeco Hackett-Fairchild after the on loan Portsmouth forward scored the only goal of the game on his debut against Barrow.

Hackett-Fairchild fired home an impressive effort after just three minutes to secure a vital 1-0 victory for the Shrimpers.

But Molesley was impressed by all aspects of Hackett-Fairchild's display.

"It was a moment of pure quality from Reeco but it wasn’t just the goal I was impressed with," said Molesley.

"I was impressed with his work-rate and his endeavour to win the ball back high up the pitch as well.

"He put in a real slog before he needed to come off."

Hackett-Fairchild, who was replaced by Alan McCormack in the 61st minute, watched the remainder of the match with an ice pack on his hamstring.

But Molesley is hoping the injury is nothing too serious.

"We’re hoping it's just over-tightness rather than a bad injury," said Molesley.

"Just before he joined us he did have two weeks out with Covid so he’d only had a couple of days training with us and a couple of days training before that too.

"There was some tightness there but the time he was on the pitch he made a big impact."

Portsmouth have signed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harvey White on loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old started Spurs' FA Cup third round win at Marine earlier this month, having made his senior debut against Ludogorets in November.

He previously scored against Pompey in an EFL Trophy tie for Tottenham Hotspur under-21s at Fratton Park in 2018.

"He's a left-footed player and an excellent footballer," Portsmouth manager Kenny Jackett said.

Spurs fans like him. It seems he covers quite a variety of positions on the left side. So if Brentford were to purchase Curtis, we are covered with Williams, Jacobs, Brown down that side.

On another note, Jamal Lowe cannot stop scoring and long may he continue to help propel the Swans to the PL. Bought for 500,000k, must be worth ten times that now. And if England overlook him, he could do.a great job for Ireland, Wales or Scotland.

Bryn Morris on verge of Portsmouth exit as clubs swoop for ex-Middlesbrough man.
please log in to view this image

The Portsmouth News has revealed the 24-year-old midfielder is currently in talks with two League One clubs over a loan.

His deal expires in the summer so it is likely Morris has played his final game for League One Pompey. It follows the arrival of Harvey White from Spurs.

The midfielder is currently in talks with two other clubs and a loan deal for Morris is expected to be confirmed shortly.

Jackett told our sister title, The News: “Bryn is talking to two other clubs at present and will probably sign on loan for one of those.

“Both Bryn and his agent are speaking to two clubs who have come in for him. I would anticipate him going to one of them.

“I think he’s a good player, but I believe he needs a fresh challenge and change of environment.

“We gave him a run of games at the start of the season and I think he’s a good player, there are a number of League One clubs that will take him.

“He will continue to progress in his personal career and we thank him for what he has done for us.

    UPDATE:
Charlie Daniels has become a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Shrewsbury Town.

The "Salop" have confirmed the exits of former Bournemouth players Daniels and Marc Pugh, who both recently signed short-term deals with the League One club. Are Pompey about to try and sign him ?!

Pompey have completed the signing of Charlie Daniels on a deal until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 34-year-old left-back recently left Shrewsbury and will wear the number 21 shirt during his time at Fratton Park.

Blues boss Kenny Jackett said: “He’s the specialist left-back we have been looking for and is someone who’s had a fantastic career.

“He’d been performing extremely well for Shrewsbury in the first half of the season and so we’re delighted to bring him here.

“Charlie is a good all-round full-back, who has a great positional sense and will be a real asset for us.”

Portsmouth: George Byers joins on loan from Swansea.

Portsmouth have signed Swansea City midfielder George Byers on loan for the rest of the season.

The 24-year-old will link up with former Swans boss Kenny Jackett at the promotion-chasing League One club.

Byers has been with the Championship side since 2016 but a long-standing groin injury has restricted his appearances this season.

He was not included in Swansea's squad for Saturday's emphatic 5-1 FA Cup victory over Nottingham Forest.

Portsmouth boss Jackett said: "He's got just over 50 appearances in the Championship and is a talented attacking midfield player.

"We want to be as strong possible in every area of the pitch. With the arrival of George - along with the signing of Harvey White - we have real competition and options in the centre of the pitch."

5' 11" tall Byers began his career at Watford before joining Swansea, where he played 65 games and scored eight goals. Byers was a regular for his parent club last term, although missed their play-off defeat to Brentford through injury.

Fingers crossed that the lad can get fit and remain fit. There is one problem with loanees, and that seems to be that they are rarely chosen ahead of players on a permanent contract with the club as it might put noses out of joint. I am sure White and Dyers are very good players. Pity White cannot be made permanent, with Spurs having the option of buying back.

Portsmouth linked with loan move to sign young Serie A midfielder
The 20-year-old is said to be close to leaving Italy on a loan move.

Portsmouth have been linked with an interest to sign teenage midfielder Michel Ndary Adopo from Italian side Torino.

Reports in Italy suggest that Pompey are keen on a move to sign the 20-year-old 6' 2" tall midfielder on loan from the Serie A club until the end of the season, with an option to buy at the end of it.

The report states that Torino are said to be keen on trimming down the size of their squad which could pave the way for their currently unused assets to depart on loan, including the young midfielder.

It also states that move to Pompey is the ‘most concrete possibility,’ with the Blues said to be chasing a loan move for the midfielder, with an option to buy at the end of it.

The midfielder has played twice in Serie A for Torino but has not played for them since last season, with both of his league appearances coming as late substitutes against Roma. The 20-year-old also played three times for France’s under-18s in 2018.

Adopo is a central midfielder, an area where Pompey currently have five senior options, including recent January arrivals Harvey White and George Byers, who have joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City respectively in the past seven days.

A loan move for Adopo would not affect their squad size or salary cap, with clubs being allowed to sign an unlimited amount of players under the age of 21. He is of Ivorian descent.

The midfielder is represented by Sports Invest UK, a sports agency whose fellow clients include Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho, Arsenal winger Willian and Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon.
