I expect the next big event...which should happen this week will be the list of retained players and released players whose contracts expire this summer.....and of course the return of Argyle players on loan.....the leaving of those we have loaned from elsewhere....with the possibility that we might bring in at least one of them fulltime......we do of course need to hold on to players that will be on other clubs wish lists.....which will be harder now that we know that it will be Div One not the Championship that we will be playing in.

Expecting new kits to be introduced this summer.

Where on earth did that often used away kit of pink and white come from ?

From a distance especially on the telly it just looks all white.....but seen up close it is two coloured and shows no contrast at all.....white and pale pink just doesn't work.....although result wise it's done quite well.....maybe it confuses the other team.

Bromley FC (The Ravens or Lillywhites) were on the the BBC London telly news last night.....parading through the centre of the town as Div Two Champions.

When Argyle play down Hayes Lane next season it will be impossible to get a ticket.....ground holds 5,150...1606 of them seated.

Talk of.....Dutch investor Maas Schouten and Hitchen Holdings Ltd being linked as possible investors into PAFC.

Well Schouten's recent background seems to be in private equity. That would be a good fit, as that model isn't likely to involve ending up with a disruptive new alpha-male board member trying to change everything from the identity of the manager through the players in the squad to the colour of the shirts. And probably the identity of the mascot and the type of cheeses on offer in hospitality.

Instead, there'd probably a silent but deadly finance guy or other professional put on the board to monitor progress towards an agreed plan. In essence, the current owners sell a strategy to the PE investor, who puts in the money to make it happen. If the plan isn't delivered, the original investors lose their shirts.

Pre-season fitness testing will be on Friday 26th June........I wonder how many player changes will have happened by then.

So not to many surprises.....good bye to Brendan Galloway served us well when fit.

Interesting that both Ashby-Hammond and Baker.....keepers two and three are being released.

Hopefully it means that a No1 keeper is on the required list and Hazard would be the reserve.....although some are saying that Hazard might leave anyrate.

I agree with that I'm afraid.

Zak Baker hasn't played for us at all, which must be a terrible blow and I can only wish him well. A team-mate of mine at school signed for a then League Division 1 club (nee Premier League) but suffered an injury which led to him being released. He went on to play league football in the lower divisions and built a career in the game after retiring. I can only hope for the same for Zak Brown.

Ashby-Hammond did really well when he came on against Port Vale, but he doesn't give me much confidence. Is there another Michael Cooper out there?

I'd like to see Owen Dale, Herbie Kane and Alex Mitchell brought in on a permanent basis, if possible.

Thinking of keepers....Luke McCormick has a son.....Leo McCormick.....don't hear much about him up here in the S E.....is there plans for him or is he still to young to be a contender.....will he step up to U18's now that they have had a clear out.

Just in case anyone is intertested.....Div One play off dates.

Sat 9th May.
Stevenage v Stockport
Bolton v Bradford.

Wed 13th May.
Stockport v Stevenage

Thurs 14th May.
Bradford v Bolton

Final at Wembley on Sun 24th May.

I've checked back a few years and we generally wait until the twenties of May.

Summer solistice is 21st of June....when Stonehenge is aligned with the Sun.

The next few days will be the coldest days since March.

Yes I understand that calendar wise but it just that as soon as they stop playing, all the results are in and tables finalised, we move onto closed-season transfers. So a new season….

And yes. Cleverley did express an interest in signing Owen Dale. It was in the local papers. I tried to attach the news item, but online versions of the ‘Erald and the Western Morning News are pay-per-view now.
