Don’t believe everything you read Plym. We probably need to bring in another goal keeper. We can’t have a teenager with no senior experience as a backup.

The biggest financial game of the year today.....the Championship play-off final.

Coventry v Luton.....maybe not the two teams expected to play out this match ...estimated to be worth £170 million to the winner.

Imagine stepping up to take the deciding penalty after 2hrs of stalemate.....more in the mind strength required than football ability by then.

If Luton win they will have to work hard on their tin-pot non-league ground to make it usable by August....one of the most inadequate grounds I have ever been to.....squeezed in on three sides by terrace house's and their small rear gardens and a main road down the fourth side.....10,356 maximum attendance.

Coventry...1-1...Luton after extra time....penalties.

Luton win....6-5 on penalties.

Fankaty Dabo misses Coventry's sixth penalty.....worth an estimated £170 million to winners Luton......he will take awhile to get over that....if ever.

Tomorrow.....Carlisle v Stockport.....for a place in Div One.

Monday.........Barnsley v Sheffield W.....for a place in the Championship.

Div Two play-off final.

Carlisle...1-1...Stockport....after extra-time.

PENALTY SHOOT-OUT.

Carlisle win 5-4 on penalties......Promoted to Div One.

Possibly the best club team in the world at the moment Man C dropped 6pts in the League to Brentford this season.

No team took 6pts off of Argyle in the League this season.

Brentford and Luton show what can be achieved by rather unexpected clubs.

I admit I know next to nothing about how Luton have achieved what they have. I do know Brentford have used player metrics to find surprisingly good players in surprising places, notably from Scandinavia, but not much about how they’re funded.

Nevetheless, where they can go……

I know you have to take with a pinch of salt what Wikipedia say.....but this is what they say about Matthew Benham....owner of Brentford and major shareholder of three times championship winners in Denmark.... FC Midtjylland.

Bentham founded in 2004...Smartodds.....who focus on statistical research and sports modelling...which it sells to professuional gamblers......He was part of a group of investors called Triplebet Limited who became owners of sports betting exchange Matchbook.

Benham's philosophy is based on Mathematical Modelling and he has certainly earned money out of doing it.

Bentham and Brentford have been compared with what has been happening at Oakland Athletic Baseball Team under its owner.

Bentham's wealth has been estimated at $307 million.....which makes him the poorest Premiership owner.

Although with Luton's promotion that might have changed.

Barnsley...0-0...Sheffield W....H/T.

Stalemate this one.....Wednesday possibly more chirpy....will this one go to penalties ?

Barnsley...0-0...Sheffield W...0-0...F/T.

Barnsley have literally played the whole half with only 10 men.

Still stalemate.

Barnsley...0-1...Sheffield W.....Windass...120+3 mins....F/T

Barnsley play for over 70 minutes with 10 men heroic effort.

SHEFF W promoted.
