There certainly is some truth to some of what you've had to say Boris, it's just a shame that you had to mumble it with your head stuck so far up your back passage.

A horse that really caught my eye in both the 10f Turnbull stakes and the 10f Caulfield Cup is former Sir Henry Cecil inmate STIPULATE.

He travels lovely into the Turnbull stakes, keeps on well into 5th having just slightly delayed his run. He is in the dark blue with white colours (same as last years Melbourne Cup winner Fiorente) and travels in the middle of the pack centre of the home straight.

Then below is the Caulfield Cup- travels like a dream, as well as the winner, yet gets sandwiched and squeezed out down the straight, eventually finishing 12th. He is by Dansili out of a Sadlers Wells mare. He will relish the step up in trip in the Melbourne Cup and the way he travels in these 10f races suggests he can hold and manouver a position in the big one.

He is number 26 in the list for that race- can Cyc or anyone else give me a clue as to whether he makes the cut?

At 26 this far out Toppy, if he stays fit, he's almost a cert to get a run.

He certainly had no luck today Toppy. The race today was run at a snail's pace which made the winner's effort amazing. I'm not to sure Stipulate can get the trip, his UK form has all been at 10f or less isn't it? Still, he's in the hands of a very talented family who've won the Cup several times in the past, so you never know.

Everyone loves a punt. They are already firing off big shots at next weekend's Cox Plate. Big support for the AOB trained Adelaide. 8s into 9-2 at the moment and expected to firm to fav by race day. Don't know how true it is, but read that the horse is the second top rated 3yo in the AOB stables behind Australia. Unlucky in the G2 Prix Niel when third behind Ectot, before that won the G1 Secretariat at Arlington.

He only has 8-10f form in the UK but I think he can improve up in trip. Dansili out of a Sadlers Wells mare.

Should be handily weighted and can make the frame with a clear run.

    Lucia Valentina still interesting <ok>

The Kid, James McDonald on Criterion.

Should have collected with Lucia so hopefully this one gets the breaks, McDonald done me a few good turns with Rising Romance and Its A Dundeel, him and Tommy Berry are the best over there for me, hes got a good draw and strong pace should suit.

Adelaide drawn in the car park.

Bit of a strange whisper doing the rounds at the moment. After 19 failed attempts to win the Mel Cup, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum's mob seem to think that this may be their year. The 2012 Ebor winner Willing Foe is their main hope. Top Sydney hoop James McDonald has now hopped off Cavalryman and will take the ride. He's somewhere around the 25-1 mark.

It's all systems go for Slade Power. Eddie Lynam's Dutch Art entire has been in quarantine at Werribee for about two weeks now and is looking the goods. He was given some serious work before making the trip which has stood him in good stead. Commenting from County Meath, Lynam said the horse's weight was now back to his usual 494kg. The horse was to be moved to the Darley stables yesterday. The trainer said that he'd like the horse to have a workout at Flemington before he runs in the $1,000,000 G1 Darley Classic on November 8. The winner of the G1 Diamond Jubilee and the G1 July Cup, will probably tangle with the likes of Lankan Rupee and the latest boom sprinter Chautauqua. Slade Power is one serious sprinter and it wouldn't surprise too many people if he ran away with the race. Win, lose or draw, the Darley will be the horse's last race before he takes up stud duties at Kildangan Stud in Ireland.

A rough betting guide as it stands at the moment.

    Chautauqua. 6-4.

    Slade Power. 4-1.

    Lankan Rupee. 9-2.

    Terravista. 9-1.

    Buffering. 9-1.
