if you don't rate him you don't rate him, but the fact that so many do, including steve bruce, alex ferguson and fabio capello, speaks volumes about the lad's ability and his future potential.

We'll have to agree to disagree as this discussion is going nowhere. We'll see which of us is right in years to come; remember Nugent? Bentley? Kirkland? Jeffers? ENG managers thought they were the next big thing too.

the lad is like a crab, can only go sideways, over-rating at its finest

Careful there big chris. Cant say anything against the lad here.

Yes he is overrated. Yes we should sell before he is found out (happening right now!), but some people just can't see past the "local lad" "great future" "alex ferguson wants him" BS.

you have hit the nail on the head, hes given a chance for being a local lad, u cant do that if you want to progress, sentiment is not in the log book

Care to explain? I didn't see sentiment when people said the same about Leadbitter. Nor Whitehead for that matter. And Brucey certainly doesn't see sentiment, one of his first acts was to sell Danny Collins.

geez, you know you're in trouble when only big chris backs you up. maybe you're one of his four alternate user names??

sorry, but did i miss something?? when did whitehead or leadbitter play for england?? when did saf try and sign them?? you reckon we are all blinkered because henderson is a local lad?? far from it, i was totally happy when we let waghorn go and feel the same about colback, but it's obvious that henderson has ability, you are just desperate to deny it, why, i don't know. probably just so you can hope he fails (again, not sure why any sunderland fan would want this), and if that happens, turn around to the rest of us with a smirk and say "i told you so", therefore demonstrating that you are the most wise of all sunderland fans.

to achieve this, you are willing the first sunderland born, safc trained player in god knows how long to win an england cap, talked up as the future of english football, to fail dramatically. stop spouting your rubbish.
