Fair question Dan, but not one I can answer. The Pozzos have stated that Watford is their main team that they wish to see in the PL because of the state that Italian football is now in. They may well have a different view point of what they expect from the head coach to the average fan like you and me. I like the public face of Beppe, although that could be misleading. I doubt that if he were replaced we would know too much about the new man and might well find that he does not know anything about the Championship. Before last night we have only had one manager with a worse away record, and that was George Kirby if you remember him. A good record at Halifax, but with the player injury problems he suffered he never had a chance. That is not something that Beppe can claim.

I have not been convinced by what I read and hear that we have actually looked like an organized team. Numerous people at the game last night who do not go overboard, suggest that many of the other teams would have taken the chances presented and we would have lost. The fact that we did get the points seems to be covering up the problems that still exist. The nearest I can get to giving an answer is to see a team that looks as if it comfortable in the way that it gets results and there is not that large element of doubt about other teams failures giving us the points.
 
Last season BS inherited a dispirited and fractured squad that didn't completely disintegrate until the the chance of a playoff spot went against QPR.

This season he has what we all agree is a much stronger squad to choose from and as a result a different set of problems that Watford manager's don't usually get, if they've ever had them. He has also had his own pre season. Four games in we have three wins, three clean sheets, a comprehensive defeat by a relegated premier league side when playing 87+ minutes with 10 men.

Just because we are seemingly playing a bit like a Lamborghini negotiating the Fruili rush hour rather than a Ferrari at Monza that might just be because others will up there game against a team such as ours. I play pub darts, and not that well tbh, but generally the better my opponent the better I play.

I find some of the comments here somewhat forgetful that the Pozzo's know what they're doing, Beppe has his badges(not so us) even if he was a modest player compared with our current crop of internationals. The thread reminds me of the press rumblings when a certain modest player we all know and love was put in charge of our national side.

Nope, not a happy clapper... far from it. But now is the time to shut up except to support the team.

Please would others note that those of us wanting Sannino out are basing it on more than the last 4 games. It is based on all the factors I and others have said already. For those of you who cannot believe some of us do not rate him then just wait and see what you think if he finishes in mid table. My bet is come December if we are not in the top ten many of you will revise your opinions - it will be too late then. Also please look at his previous record - promotions in lower division in Italy -nothing equivalent to this level

I hope I am wrong but think as a supporter of over 50 years who has been slow in the past to distrust a manager my opinion is perfectly fair for me to have.

Sorry about the sarcasm Leo, I actually share your misgivings about BS. However, I think that we are a tadge early in our criticism - last season was last season - we should give him a little more time for the team and tactics to gel before embarking on a crusade to get him out. If we are adrift of the play-off slots after, say, 15 games, then we should look to change.

My point, clumsily made I'll admit, was that we have often given supporters of so-called "bigger teams" for prematurely having a go at their manager, even when they are having, by our standards, a good season.

We don't want to do that do we?
 
I will support the team no matter what. I do not call for Beppe to be sacked. I believe that the Pozzos know what they are doing and sooner or later we will get promoted. I just find it difficult to read one fan say we were given those three points, while someone else says we set up the team to win them. Probably the truth is between the two. Listening to Jon Marks last night I had the impression that we were very poor for most of the game and could well have lost. Even he was finding it difficult to suggest that the team was inspired by Beppe.

Thank you OFH. I agree with pretty much all of that.
, I think the conceding of goals late on has been the major worry. The tension in the last 20 minutes is almost tangible on and off the pitch and it must affect players badly. As HF says we have had 3 clean sheets out of 4 and, even more pleasingly, we have nicked a couple of late ones ourselves. I am looking forward to a time when that panic just isn't there. Let's hope it is only round the corner!
 
The Fulham manager, Mr Magath, is one who should be in the spotlight now, not Bepe! Even though that is too soon IMHO.
 
From the games against Bolton and Rotherham it seems that this season ref's have been told to hold back on issuing yellow cards. Last season they would have been flying out in the first 20 mins of both games, but they were conspicuous by their absence! Last night the ref did not even "have a word" with any of the players until much later in the game and encouraged by the crowd. Will be interesting if this continues.

I am a bit surprised he stuck around TBH..

Having seen the Dyer incident it seems he just stood in the middle of the pitch ranting at somebody having pushed the likes of Angella away.

Funny thing is Bepe probably had no idea what Dyer was saying!

Typically we get a red from an incident that nobody seems to have seen properly and is probably more to do with outside influence....
 
Look I don't want a campaign against Beppe - asI have said a couple of times I would only support him at matches but when you do not think a manager is really very good this is the placw we can say it. I hope to be made to look very very silly as we have a great season -all I care about is Watford and what is best for us. The reason I make these points so early is that there are some other pretty good sides in this division -can we afford to give them a 10 point start? At what point is it "right" to sack a manager? When promotion has become a pipe dream? Hopefully for us the answer is we will never find out as we do so well.
 
From what I understand, the Pozzos have never been slow to sack a coach if they felt a change was needed. One can only assume that they have faith in BS because they could have got rid of him easily and cheaply at the end of last season.

On the other hand there could be some Machiavellian machinations operating. Their chosen successor not being available yet, for example. In addition isn't there a roving super-boss moving between us, Granada and Udinese?
 
I think he's gonna walk. This is just silly, the players really need to grow up. When I f up at work I get shouted at and I get warnings. It's the way the world works and that should extend to footballers.
 
Joint favourite to be next championship manager sacked 3-1 down from 40-1. Not sure what to make of all this but if something is going to happen it needs to happen quickly.

I was keen on getting Malky back when he visited last year but that doesn't look so clever now......

I saw elsewhere that the odds are one down to 7/4. Either a lot of people are betting or there are leaks from the club.

Indeed. And it seems harsh on Beppe. He wouldn't appear to have been given a fair crack of the whip (no pun intended).

But if he is off - perhaps Malky coming back may have some merit. Despite his reported indiscretions at Cardiff.
 
Completely agree with you Leonardo and don't worry about other poster's sarcasm, it's good to have fair opinions regardless of whether they agree with others
