LEICESTER chalked up their first away win since August — but it was rough on Burnley.
Clarets fell behind after 19 minutes when Foxes full-back Paul Konchesky fired a stunning 20-yarder.

The home side were level just three minutes later when keeper Kasper Schmeichel failed to clear a throw and Ross Wallace headed into an empty net.

But Eddie Howe's side paid the price for misses either side of the break.

Charlie Austin hit a post and Andre Amougou was denied by Richie Wellens' goal-line clearance.

City caretaker boss Mike Stowell said: "Whoever comes in to this club as the next manager will find it's ready to take off.

"It's a great club."

City — who axed Sven Goran Eriksson last week — regained the lead thanks to a spectacular 56th-minute David Nugent header.

And they twisted the knife eight minutes later when Amougou fouled Wellens.

It looked a soft call but winger Paul Gallagher made no mistake from the spot.

Howe said: "At 2-1 we were still well in the game — the penalty was harsh."
