We already have a perfectly good stadium, there's absolutely zero chance of us building a new one, only the training facilities are in need of investment.
All the stadium needs is work carried out so we don’t have to have acres of segregation and could fill it if we get back to the PL. It must be possible to have it like other stadiums where they can manage with one aisleway between fans and the ability to have 1,000, 2,000 or whatever away fans and the ability to sell unsold away seats to home fans. There may be some commercial ideas benefitting the club and the council which could be done on Walton Street (but backward thinking will prevent that) but to have a site large enough for the sort of academy and training facilities a lot of clubs, many smaller than us, have it needs to be outside the city like many are. Land will probably be cheaper as well.
Spot on, not sure why people would want the extra and pointless expense and challenges that come with building a new ground. The only thing we need to look at re ground is getting our current one tidied up and looked after better. The training ground set up ( especially first team ) is piss poor and way behind our competition. This needs to be sorted asap and for that, I personally don't see Walton st as the solution.
We also need to kick out Hull FC, if we’re destined for the PL we can’t keep sharing our stadium like a Sunday league team.
So, how do we kick someone out of a stadium we do not own and where they have an agreement with the owners of the stadium, the council, the same as we have?
They ground share with a union team. Union causes more damage to a pitch than league and is played at the same time as the football during the worst months of the winter. Swansea are the same. And Bristol City. The problem is the pitch at the MKM.
Spurs ground share with a lot of different sports and they seem to be going ok (relatively speaking).
They've got an artificial pitch underneath so they can switch pitches and host other teams/events. The real grass is stored away in the sides and gets lights to keep it healthy. It's pretty insane tech
Yep definitely, just pointing out there are plenty of ways to make ground sharing work (obviously some methods are incredibly expensive) but ground sharing isn't inherently 'tinpot'.

They're the only team in the country that can host events on consecutive days without having any damage to the pitch. Spurs could groundshare easily, although I suspect it's more profitable to act as they currently do (until there's an NFL London franchise)
Absolutely, when I say groundshare I mean literally there are a number of other sports that use their ground currently. I suspect if/when there's a London NFL franchise they'd have a more formal/regular groundsharing agreement. There's a lot of money in it and it's reasonably shortsighted to cut off revenue channels just because of some sort of perception that it makes a club tinpot.
Real Madrid use the same tech to keep their grass going, it's crazy. Obviously we're nowhere near being able to sustain our pitch in the same way, but Brentford would be an interesting one to look at to see how they manage it.
