Indeed, I was about to say, Belgian beers when drank in Belgium are served in dedicated glasses, as they should be. The same applies if you buy one in a decent bar in the UK. I cheat at home, I have a Chimay glass which I use for any Belgian tipple, though it should of course be for Chimay only. #beergeek
On topic, this should be the starting 11 for Sporting Lokeren : please log in to view this image GK Davino Verhulst, last season on the bench, now our #1. Ivory Coast NT goalie Barry Copa will take place now on the bench. please log in to view this image CB Mijat Maric, good, strong defender and our team's #1 penalty taker... only missed one in his 4 seasons here please log in to view this image CB Alexander Scholz, young Danish defender, our hero of the 2014 Cup Final scoring the winning goal... a name to remember for the future please log in to view this image RB Georgios Galitsios, our Greek winger, a bit too physical in play, but has a great cross... but also a cult player, driving some bad-ass cars & also a mad fashionista please log in to view this image LB Denis Odoi, not good enough for Anderlecht, but found his place here... at times a very dodgy defender (hope not tommorow) please log in to view this image CM Killian Overmeire, the club's captain and icon, started to play at Lokeren-youth teams aged 9, at age 18 made debut in first team, now 11 years later and +300 games with Lokeren winning 2 Cups. please log in to view this image CM Koen Persoons, a real wrestler on midfield, came to Lokeren following his coach at the time in KV Mechelen (Peter Maes who also left KVM for Lokeren) please log in to view this image LM Jordan Remacle, had some several clubs before Lokeren, with a 'bad-boy' reputation. Now under coach Maes he's a pussycat and is a pacy winger, can also play as RM please log in to view this image RM Nill De Pauw, like Overmeire he comes from our Youth Academy, and now 7 years in first team... can score some incredible goals, but also miss the easiest chances, can also play as LM please log in to view this image AM Hans Vanaken, coming from 2nd Div (Lommel) and moulded in PSV youth teams, he's only 21 y, he's already one of Belgium's finest players for the future, and soon also a Red Devil. When I say Xavi, Pirlo... we can say that he thinks 2 steps ahead of everybody and with the slightest touch he delivers some great passes... a name to remember for the future please log in to view this image AT Junior Dutra, the Brazilian had to replace Harbaoui (best Lokeren striker in years) and has done very well so far (check the great goal against Zulte/W). He had a knee injury and couldn't make the Hull game... but now he's fit and will start as a lone striker.
Tripel Karmeliet is also a delicious beer... Which bars you recommend the Lokeren supporters in Hull next week?
Old Town in the city centre for traditional British pubs. Some names- Ye Olde White Harte Lion & Key WM Hawkes Sailmakers Arms Ye Olde Black Boy George Hotel Minerva (on marina) These serve ales and craft beers rather than your bog standard lagers that you can get anywhere and are bland. Not cheap like, but you pay for quality.
Ignore party, cheese, admiral of the Humber and the ebeneezer Morley are the places to be! Specially in the afternoon when most normal folks are out at work.
These Belgian fans are very classy, makes a pleasant change from reading posts from the Leicester simpletons. Good luck to them, will get some Belgian beers in now myself too
FOr those of us unfortunate enough to not be making the trip, do we know if it will be televised this time or are we getting pied off with tiger player again?
