Sorry! I thought you were talking about them beating Bayern. Not the match with us. I'm in the corner with a pointy hat on with 'D' on it
2005 had everythng, 1999, ha, out played only to get fortunate at the very end, nothing like 2005 whatsdoever. United had comebacks but this was a brilliant AC Mlan and the final of the CL I remember Dudek "Goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek's 'dance of distraction' - in honour of Bruce Grobbelaar's jelly-legged performance in the 1984 final - helped him save from Andrea Pirlo and Andriy Shevchenko. " Saw Brucie do it so was awesome to see Dudek at it.
We played well for a grand total of six minutes in Istanbul, hardly a great 'performance' but it was an awesome come back considering. One of the best nights of my life
I thought there was another 20+ minutes and extra time and penalties after that? A lot of time for Milan to go get 3 more goals but I guess they were denied them I can understand why mancs rate 1999 cos to think you are losing for 90 minutes and then to win, I get that but achievement wise on the night, not so significant in its self to win it was obviously, the real achievement was getting to the final in a then very strong europe.
There was, but Milan dominated the play with us just going all out defense! Don't get me wrong, we had some very performances from individual players such as Carragher, Hamann and Hyypia, but team performance wise we wasn't exactly great
Clunge 1-2 United The greatest comeback ever, involved a goal off the shoulder and a team called clunge
I tell you with the lineup you had out there that was pretty awful. To think Jose would want to inherit that lot.
5th in the prem, new manager, what did you expect. Gerrard with that fantastic header was the catalyst. Was a peach. Gattuso lost Gerrard and conceded the pen and Dida was weak handed on Smicers shot. Gerrard & Dudek & Hamann. Key players on the night. Goes to show, Milan@halftime.. counting chickens n all that.
Didn't expect anything else to be fair. I was only saying it was a great team performance following a comment about Man Utd's non-performance in 1999. IMO, you can't have it both ways
