    No Brexit in The Ryder Cup.
    Europe win all 4 afternoon matches to go 5-3 up.
    USA looking a lot less than the sum of their parts.

    The revived XFL have announced a rule stating that, if a player isn't standing for the national anthem, they'll be sacked immediately

    So when the teams start having trouble paying their players, they'll know the quickest way to get out of their contracts...

    The Ryder Cup is a superb event - Match Play team golf is so much more interesting to watch than stroke play.

    Watched a great movie over the weekend. Strange kind of tension, as the outcome seemed extremely probable from early on. Trying to remember the title......

    Ah yes! Now I remember! It was called EASY RYDER..........

    I’ll get my coat.......!

    And it reveals so much about the character and temperament of the players.

    I often take the mail cause her indoors likes the articles - Femail etc. I assume lots like me pick it up from time to time and hate the politics but secure enough in their own convictions to drown out the bias and pick through it for actual news.
    Then I see the latent xenophobia in comments areas like this. It turns me pedantic cause I just want to irritate them. For example on another day I would remind Oldie3 that N Ireland isn't in Great Britain, Great Britain is a land mass. They've surely seen GB & NI on athletics shirts for example. They don't even know the proper name of our country is the UK of GB & NI.
    I would also remind them that Golf started here, we have way more courses than all of them (excepting Spain) so of course we are going to make up a large part of the team. Also we included Europe in the Ryder Cup cause we were getting thumping after thumping when we played US on our own. And we will always be part of Europe. Swiss players are eligible for this, as are Russians (if there are any playing Golf). Criticising the EU is soooo stupid.
    Finally the difference between winning and losing was Francesco Molinari. Turn his +5 into -5 and we lose. These 5 new players from UK better be good.

    Yep, Europe is a continent, not a political entity.

    I see Geraint Thomas had his Tour de France Trophy stolen, which is sad for him - not won easily

    I see the promotional company in charge of it at the time said;
    The trophy was snatched after being "momentarily left unattended" during the clear-up after the show.

    They also said it was stolen anywhere between 6 and 7pm. I wouldn't have described an hour as momentary,

    For 15 years, I lived 100m from where the World Cup was 'found'. Pickles' owner used to drink in my local pub (before I moved there). It was a proper den of iniquity and had been the watering hole of 2 of the train robbers, one of whom was Bruce Reynolds.
