If they hadn't dropped him early on Afghanistan would have won easily and likely almost overhauled Australia's NRR advantage!

    Small margins.
    They should have won.
Maxwell was brilliant but they capitulated in the end. Too passive in the middle overs. Ran out of ideas. Didn’t create any pressure.
May have blown their chance to reach the semis now.

Can't help but feel that the Indians thought the Aussies were going to roll over in this final , interesting 50 overs to come

They play 48 games over 7 weeks, then Australia win

A massive toss to win, it was far easier batting conditions in the second innings, the dew came down and the ball came onto the bat making scoring easier.

Rohit said he would have batted first had he won the toss.
It was very dry early on and the white balls scuffed up, allowing for reverse swing. The Aussies have some very good exponents of that. It got harder to bat for India.
When India bowled, it was damper, although there wasn’t much dew. So no reverse swing. Once the new ball stopped swinging, the conditions gave their bowlers nothing.
Head was brilliant and Labuschagne just needed to ensure wickets weren’t falling.
The Aussies fielding was excellent too. Head’s catch to dismiss Rohit and many runs saved in the outfield.
I don’t think the toss decided the game; the Aussies just got everything right as they tend to do when it matters.

Brook 31 off 7 balls to see England home
    What a talent.
He just needs to learn when to rein it in. You can’t hit every ball.
    Fantastic 109* from Phil Salt

To be fair, as well as Buttler and Salt did, England were well behind the rate. But wickets in hand and the ability they have to hit sixes on their day meant that even 17 an over wasn’t insurmountable

So Kevin Sinfield won’t be getting a knighthood in the New Year’s Honours.
If a knighthood means anything, then it should go to someone like Sinfield. In fact, he deserves two!
Not only for his sporting achievements, but also for his remarkable , tireless efforts to raise money for MND charities. Last week, he completed seven ultra marathons in seven days. The guy is unbreakable and never gives in :emoticon-0165-muscl:emoticon-0165-muscl
He deserves recognition, not someone who does favours for the Tories.
