Just been reading a Luton fans comment on another message board...
PB's training regime patently broke Spiller into a million pieces! As I understand it his current injury is different to those he's previously had so, in that respect we've been, quite simply, unlucky ... pretty much as we were with Charlie Henry, whose long-term lay-off was nothing to to with the injury he had when we signed him.
One possible gripe that I do have is how closely the club looked at the recovery periods for Spiller and Richards and, indeed, any other signings. Spiller hasn't played very much for a couple of seasons now and obviously isn't a quick healer, no matter what his injury.
Richards was signed with full knowledge that we'de be getting a player on the road to recovering from a broken leg. Is this road a dead end? He played 45 minutes in a PSF at St Albans and has now disappeared off the face of the earth.
Not that I know anything other than is in the public domain but I wouldn't like to bet against Bosox's assertion that we never see Spiller play for us. One of the early club statements about his injury suggested a long lay off and nothing announced by them since then has changed that.
