Agree. I've said repeatedly I don't mind that Can's not signing a new contract - most games he's a liability unlike Bobby who has an off game every now and again.

Bit early to judge this season's performance level? He's had a couple of really good games so far, and a couple of bad ones.

Dirk had the work effic. We have missed that badly. What gives Lallana a lot of leeway. I like Bobby, just hope he can add more goals to his game.
Played good football. Just couldn't fecking finish. Should have won, didn't, hopefully we can take that into our league games and capitalise.
Kuyt certainly had the work ethic - goals wise, pretty much exactly the same. tbf Bobby puts in a shift as well but Kuyt is one of those fellas who goes bright red very quickly so visibly looks like worn out.
I think mito is right in one sense: Champions League is a misnomer, it's just a name for what is a half-arsed European super-league. Eventually it will evolve into the full-blown version as the mega-rich clubs leave the rest behind, and playing in their domestic leagues is a waste of time. It already is for many of them.
I don't get this argument tbh. The old format was 32 teams in a knockout. Now with the league format and seedings, what should result after the league stages, is that the best 16 teams in Europe make the knockout stages.
You got it the wrong way round. It was jenners saying it was a misnomer as in the 'old days' only champions could participate.
So call it that then. I have no issues with that, if that is the label attached to it, but it isn't, as yet, which is why I called it a joke, ie 4-2-0. Champions my arse.
