I just don’t understand how such a talented and classy player like him loses his touch so dramatically.
And Karius - when you have the opportunity to stake your claim, you have to take it. Disappointing for the free kick.
It is looking like that now. But it was almost a banker for first place. Everyone said that we were the most likely English team to qualify, because of the weak teams in our group. We have a team which can dominate and create chances without scoring. A 4-1 score line would not have flattered us.
Karius is just not a quality goal keeper. He should have saved that free kick 9 times out of ten. It was not even in the corner.
I said the same thing about Sturridge - it’s hard to find rhythm and develop sharpness if you’re not playing consistently
Seems to be a recurring theme now BUT whilst we didn’t put away our chances, we are playing much better against low block teams. We’re creating so many chances. It’s going to turn in our favour soon.
Didn't everyone notice that Utd's group is easier than ours? Like I said, I thought we'd be second when I saw the draw. Sevilla are a strong side. With hindsight, we should have won both of our games so far, but I still expect us to qualify.
Yep - I’m still very confident that we go through. 6 points against Maribor, 3 against Spartak and 3 against Sevilla I know we’ve dropped points this seaso. (Both PL and CL) but bar City, we’ve deserved to have won every game.
He always works hard, but he just seems unable to get into some games. His first touch is dreadful sometimes - he's a bit like Dirk in that respect. His work-rate is valuable in pressing and winning the ball back high up, but against Spartak that was hardly necessary. They didn't have much going for them, and were totally ****ed after the hour. I'd have taken Bobby off for Sturridge instead of Mané, who always looked like he might do something.
been drinking so it all seems ok but really I know its not. Did I imagine that we had the ball in the net early second half that was disallowed?
Coutinho is back and firing - this is the season where he steps up a level. He and Mane are levels above the rest. Salah and Firmino are good all rounders to complement them.
I think we're nailed on Europy. All that it takes now is an unfortunate decision such as a sending-off against Spartak, and we're behind the 8-ball. In these group stages, even in a doddle group like ours, you need to twist the boot when it's on your opponent's face - we'll pay for this, I'm sure.
Exactly we have really deserved to win, dominated many weak teams but yet got draws. So why do you suddenly feel confident that we will win all our next games?
