Much obliged to you and sorry for being off topic.

Talking about backnuts clingo, I had a problem when replacing the concealed cistern syphon diaphram in my ground floor bog the other day (as previously advised). The extended lever mechanism had corroded internally to the extent that I couldn't get the plastic backnuts off without stripping them to the point of being useless for re-use.

Online to Screwfix. They have everything you need (and more). Pack of 2 brass (not plastic!) female flanged 1/2" backnuts at £1.35 a pack. Bloody marvellous value and service, but please don't let the mention of "female flanges" get you too excited. <ok>

Wish I was Bluey. They're a success story in difficult trading times because they do exactly what it says on the tin - huge diversity and range, held stock and efficient service. The over the counter style of business is pulverising their sister business B&Q who operate big walk-around stores (both owned by Kingfisher), and their prices are also very keen.

If I need anything in the mech/elec sphere, they are the first (and usually the last) place I look. If they haven't got it on the shelf in Bridgend (very unusual) then it's there by midday the next day - and that includes weekends.

As an example, the Fernox F4 Express leak sealer mentioned in the OP was not on the shelf in Bridgend when I checked on line late on a Friday afternoon but I ordered anyway knowing how good they are - it was there waiting for me by 11 am on the Saturday morning. Now that's what has grown their business by over 10% this past year.

(I'm expecting a few bob from them after writing this.....<laugh>)

Ive used them a few times. They are good. Some of the year is not robust enough for commercial use though.
I'm fortunate where I am that there are also a few very good independents where you need bulk which drops the price significantly. Or if you need industrial strength.

Volume usually brings savings remote, but I'm in a different place these days since I sold up and packed it in. <ok>

At one time I spent a lot (and I mean a lot!!) of money monthly on accounts with the likes of PC, Travis. N&E and Edmundsons. The competitve prices offered to secure the business were ludicrously low - not that I was complaining mind.

For the average "Joe on the street", and I regard myself as one, a facility like Screwfix is just brilliant. It's very rare that I've had to turn to my previous contacts in the trade for anything. The only other comparative "retail" source for this sort of gear is Toolstation, they're OK but my past experience of them is nowhere near as good as Screwfix.

Accept that Sparkey. We don't use volume regularly as you would have, but if we do we seek alternatives to provide savings.
Different product, same principle, we buy molasses 1000litres at a time. It's a lot of jars.

Didn't know Screwfix did molasses - if they did, they'd probably be the best molasses in the world..........<laugh> <ok>

What's the marrow with you, just knuckle down and get to the flux of the matter. Are we under enough pressure or do we have to pump it up a bit?

We need to step on the gas, fire up on all cylinders and not diverter our attention away from the flow. We should go into these last games header to header, with a non return policy and boss white them.

Not sure about that. Might have been better if I could type "apologies" correctly!
