McLaren have been strengthening their technical team and claim to have a "headline grabbing" signing. Newey isn't in Korea - is it because he's on gardening leave?
Newey and Brawn are the only two who would be "headline grabbing". There are plenty of well respected engineers out there but they aren't household names, depends how much McLaren are exaggerating. Newey would never go back there, it's not a good environment for him to work in. Could be Brawn, there've been rumours of him leaving all year.
Gotta be brawn hasn't it? I Can't imagin brawn being a McLaren man though. It Seems a strange concept.
"And the Brawn shall lie down with the Whitmarsh, and the Fernando will dwell with the Kimi, and the Hamilton and the Rosberg and the Lauda together; and a little Vettel will lead them. Constantly." (Ecclestone 11:6)
Looks like he's mostly okay... Not sure of injuries, but nothing life threatening, thankfully. Hopefully the spectators are all well too. Lots of debris during that shunt. I love motorsport, but hate times like these.
Yeah, saw that. So similar to Jeff Krosnoff's fatal accident back in the late-nineties. Never good when a car climbs the fence like that. He is at least awake and talking, so hope physical injuries aren't too bad.
Yeah... it really never is nice to see a car being ripped open by fencing like that. Thankfully it wasn't a fatal crash. Just hoping for good news on the injuries and the fans at that corner.
Franchitti has suffered a concussion, a spinal fracture (but not one which will require surgery) and a fracture to his right ankle. Anything to do with the spine is really bad news, so really hoping for the best.

Fantastic Equinox documentary from years gone by. Made in the mid 80's it charts the rise of the F1 turbo engine and technology at the time. If you have the time, it's well worth a watch. Early part charts Ford's development of a straight-4 turbo, and what happens when you take it 500rpm over its limit on the test bench. Also, 1985 Ross Brawn! Two videos for you, if you haven't got the time for ASC's mammoth documentary. Firstly, Gutierrez with a nice bit of control during quali: And secondly, a fan view of that horrific Franchitti accident (not for the faint hearted)...
