The BBC report doesn't accuse her of being the leaker and says the official reason was being "dishonest". Bleak. Best keep quiet at RBR, dare to raise obvious misconduct and your job's on the line. Not that the internal drama was every really about this case, but i can't imagine this has eased tensions.
To suspend means the leak wasn't appreciated one bit. However to do it now means they were afraid she was goign to do interviews in saudi and cause a massive issue. I presume the suspended her and blocked her from travelling. Right now its down to the pay off. someone is getting one and its just a qeustion of how much and what NDA she's willing to sign compared to the book oand tv deals for talking.
If the mass of leaks are to be believed, apparently she already turned down a payoff. No telling the accuracy of that. It feels like the Verstappen's have got wind of this stuff and weaponized it. So did she, the Verstappen's or somebody else leak it all?
Sad this is more news worthy than the racing. They have to be very sure this doesn't end up in a tribunal, it could do. Suspended on full pay I assume, till they negotiate. She has lawyers, wonder how they are being paid, by whom. I haven't decided whether to watch this weekends racing. Undecided till I see the result of qualifying.
Unless they do pay her off and have an iron clad nda then surely she will either go to the police or the press. Either police or press is more bad publicity for Horner and Red Bull. Question is who is paying her off? Red Bull or Horner!
Why suspend her though, surely that's a sackable offence? My guess is to deflect criticism away from Horner while they negotiate a nda and a payoff to stop her going to police of press. If the case for Horner being not guilty was that strong they would just remind her of the slander and libel laws and how they would sue her into bankruptcy if she continued with the allegations and sack her!
Good decision by Alonso to have his face ironed for the current season , he looks ten years younger. No steam, low setting.
If refrained from talking about this as I’d rather not speculate about individuals, but I did want to say that if I were a RedBull (corporate, not specifically the F1 team) employee - I’d be pretty disappointed at what people seem to think about my employer and their regard for employee rights. Most of this speculation doesn’t square at all with my impression/experience in this area.
Dutch Press "Unrest again today at Red Bull. Top advisor Helmut Marko just told ORF that there is a 'theoretical possibility' that he will be suspended by Red Bull. He cannot say with certainty whether he will be there at the next Grand Prix in Australia." Match point for Horner Worth noting that the rumours last year were that Marko leaving was Verstappen's red line
Well there’s this, and a few other rumours. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/m...n-amid-fresh-red-bull-investigation/10584967/
Max goes all in on defending Marko. The unthinkable really might happen. "And I’ve always expressed this to everyone in the team, everyone high up, that he’s an important part in my decision making - for all the time and in the future as well within the team. “It’s very important that he stays within the team, including of course everyone else, because it’s a whole team effort. “It’s very important that we keep the key people together, because I feel if such an important pillar falls away - that’s also what I’ve said to the team - that is not good for my situation. “For sure, for me, Helmut has to stay. For sure." https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/fresh-red-bull-crisis-involving-marko-worries-verstappen/
This **** is like a soap opera. What with this, suggestions of some kind of weird love triangle.... Utterly mental.
