I`ve been hearing some reports that the Albert Park circuit for the Australian G.P. has had an upgrade.Anyone know any details, please.?
the track/street road area has been resurfaced, there's less corners and more space to try overtake the removal of the chicane opens up the 6 to 11 as fast sweeping zne for ground effect cars so the theory is turn 11 is now a genuine passing change... in theory. turn one is widened so that creates a whole new possibility for an overtake there are apparently 4 drs zones which i find crazy. overall it seems to be a long overdue acknowledgment that the cars are longer and wider and need more room so who knows if its enough until they go round in anger It could be a passing fest. It could be boring, who knows. but it will be different and less of a procession.
Are we gonna have a race thread or what guys?! So pleased to see us back in Australia after two years away.
Thanks very much for that.I like how you`ve shown the new track over the original layout. Just look at how they`ve got rid of turn 9 & 10 chicane it`s vertually a straight blast now from turn 6,can`t wait !! Thanks again. (I think that I`ve posted this wrong the first time, hope this is the correct way)
https://www.msn.com/en-gb/cars/news...vEVJ37R0D6-RKVZwFi3t4D2EGgrWAoRMRdKhFj04MG8l0 Why is Horner taking the piss and having a moan at Ferrari over their engine?
It seems to me like Horner is trying to have his cake and eat it. Red Bull were supposed to be buying Honda's IP for the PU, but then they win the championship and now when a PU goes pop they ship it back to Japan. So Red Bull Power Trains don't seem to have the skills to actually do much with the Honda PU! VW/Audi/Porsche seem to be sniffing round Red Bull, Sauber and McLaren as either a PU supplier or a full team. In my books to be considered a new PU supplier they can't benefit from Honda's IP or they should be considered as an existing supplier! So to me Horner is trying to suggest that Ferrari have an advantage as they have history! He's just trying every dirty trick in the book to gain more money as he sees that as the way to win. Have the FIA actually published the financial figures from last season?
Yet his team have the only designer who was around when the last ground effect cars raced, given that advantage Red Bull have I think it balances out.
Still not sure about Red Bull having bought Honda's IP being considered a New PU supplier!! As for Audi buying a team, I hope it's not Williams or McLaren as they have too much history to be lost. Sauber would be good as they have gone through a few manufacturers in the past, but maybe they are too aligned with Ferrari plus when Andretti tried to buy them Sauber still wanted control, so maybe not! Haas might be a good idea although they probably don't have enough infrastructure for a manufacturer and big links to Ferrari. Aston might be good as I am sure Strolls racing career has peaked so Dad will lose interest soon? Can't really see if being McLaren as surely their sports cars compete with Porsche? I do hope it's not Williams.
Would be a sad day to say goodbye to McLaren or Williams.. And yet they're still dithering with Andretti.
Haven't McL sold their factory (lease back) and had a big cash injection from some of the owners - I hope they are not financially over stretched!
