Hard and Medium tyres will be used for both Spa and Monza, while Soft and Super Soft for Singapore. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2012/7/13670.html
No surprises there then. Albeit I would have quite liked to see the softs used at Spa and Monza to give the teams a challenge.
The mid-season test has been abandoned for 2013, after it all it was hardly the biggest success. And, I'm not sure if it's mentioned elsewhere but double DRS is supposedly banned for next year.
Sorry if it's been mentioned already, but Autosprint say McLaren will copy Ferrari's pull-rod front suspension. Finally, it's been a while since a rival team copied a major Ferrari innovation!
Mercedes engines to be adjusted? Poorly translated by Bing. Mercedes, McLaren and Force India have two things in common. All three suffer from problems with the durability of the rear tyres. And all three teams go with a Mercedes engine. Is there a connection? This may be not actually. The Mercedes factory team has given me Ross Brawn, Aldo Costa, Geoff Willis, John Owen and Andrew Shovlin experienced engineers in their ranks. But since Pirelli provides the tyres, this team accompanied the concern for the rear wheels. Whenever the conditions are difficult, the engineers need to sacrifice time to keep the rear wheels in good shape. From the outside, sometimes creates the impression that they don't know what they are doing. McLaren and Force India, providing m goes also to the rear wheels. Only less strongly than in the factory team. Nevertheless Hungary winner Lewis Hamilton called for: "Lotus, Red Bull and tires can take a set of longer Ferrari as we." Engineering Director paddy Lowe delivered the Declaration of bankruptcy in Hockenheim: "We understand not the tires." This may not be yet. Not in a team like McLaren, that can explain scientific every trifle. Mercedes team in the weak Nico Hülkenberg was a victim of the strong reduction of the rear tire in the last two races. The Force India driver had the speed for a lap, he qualified in both cases loosely for the top ten, but on the distance, the rear feet played a prank him. In the second part of the stints, his car began to oversteer. In Hungary, Hulkenberg lost the duel to place ten against Nico Rosberg. Because Mercedes had given priority to the careful use of the rear Setup connect, Force India, however, rather looked to a good lap time. And for this there was the receipt in the race. Three teams, three times the same problem. Three times, and also the same engine. The critical question is allowed, whether it's not even on the engine why just for these three teams the rear wheels to suffer. Such as auto motor und sport in its current issue (No. 18/2012) explains, because in fact there is a link. But this realization had only when the team win promotion. The engine was previously something of the sacred cow. Mercedes-power bad for tire removal? Not without reason. The Mercedes V8 has the most power, especially in the medium speed range. This is nice for a round can but the rear tyre life shorten if the performance is difficult to measure. It is known that the Pirelli tyre tricky on slides and too much slip responds. He is even too hot, the are no longer to save. How good is the Mercedes V8 in the middle phase of acceleration, noted the Sauber drivers in Hockenheim. "When the out accelerate out of the corners we could keep still." "But then came a phase, since the Force India moved it just us on the line as long as the tyres were still fresh," Sergio Pérez and Kamui Kobayashi reported unison. You can even when you turn on high of second in the third over 780 HP and slip to minimal from the third to fourth gear come, especially if the tires are older. For the pilot, this is hard to control even at sensibelstem Gasfuss. This small ride accumulate and kill the tires in the long term. Engine has great influence on tyres Ross Brawn makes a general statement that can be deep on the subject: "The motor characteristic has a big impact on the reduction of the tyres." We remember the admonitory words of Rubens Barrichello at Williams last year. "The Cosworth engine is the largest tyre killer in our package, because the power uses like a switch." "Either there is nothing there or anything." Mercedes Race Director Norbert Haug will not deny that the engine in the suspicion is to cause the tire problem. "We face critical issues in all directions." "You do not stop even before the motor characteristic." Internally you can hear: Mercedes has recognized the problem and is working under high pressure on torque curves which makes it easier for drivers to measure performance. A rule change after the GP Germany complicates this project however. Red bulls trip in the grey areas of the engine software could be the Mercedes team still on the head. Since the defending champions at Hockenheim with an engine software drove, which has reduced torque at full speed in the medium speed range up to 35 percent, a rule was adopted by the FIA that the torque curves by no more than two percent of the standard versions of the first four races may differ. Benefits Mercedes McLaren mappings? Source:Auto motor und sport. Does this now mean McLaren will be weaker in qualifying and straight line speed, but stronger on race pace? Just when you all thought it was safe to think everything was calming down, Pirelli help cause another problem for teams to work around with.
That would be interesting as it seemed to take Ferrari a while to make it work properly when you look at pre-season testing and the first few races.
yeah yeah, next you'll be saying Tyrrell came up with the idea of raised noses in 1990 .............. oh wait...
Why don't the minnows come up with innovative designs anymore? I'd like to see HRT develop a rear wing that shoots laserbeams.

I read a story the other day that they (HRT) are currently at 50% or something like that of their maximum capability.... So maybe the lasers are still charging?
Mark webber's Aussie Grit Helmet Promo for the Singapore GP winner has been decided: http://www.markwebber.com/off-the-track-news/aussie-grit-helmet-promo-we-have-a-winner I did mean to enter that a while back but it sort of slipped my mind. Piquet Jr has been busy this week commenting on drivers. Seems he is still stewing Romain Grosjean & Kimi Raikkonen Ayrton Senna Bitter?
Little Priquet is most certainly bitter. His comments on Senna A.'s technical prowess are however, interesting. Senna had an instinct about things, which sometimes amazed his engineers; but actually, he was not especially outstanding with the technical aspects of setting up a car. That said, Priquet's claim that Senna would not have won anything today is the daft sort of comment one might expect to find from a silly*member of a forum! (*Or a WUM!)
