Yes I agree . Something is fundamentally rotten there ( Williams ) imho . I seem to remember him saying something like “ there is basically nothing wrong here “ in the early days , then “ just give us a good car “ . Shame . Never should have done that Williams tv promo ****e
This is probably more of a close-season post but check this out. 1hr 20m of onboard Gerhard Berger on his way to win the 1989 Portugese GP. Moments to look out for are at 35.30 when Mansell uses two backmarkers to block Berger in and take the lead. Also, as it's quite topical, watch how Berger approaches the backmarkers who are battling for position with caution...............none of who see or care about blue flags! Oh, and of course Ferrari V12, no turbo, no traction control, just lovely noise.
The Ferrari v12 just sounds like a banshee. Me and my young one we're sat listening to the old v12 and v10 notes last night. Sad, I know.
I'd love to see what happened on the approach to that corner to understand why he was already approaching the corner at high speed backwards! Unlucky to get launched off the back of the other car, although it would have been a big shunt anyway.
The taped hands were a legacy if his Imola crash earlier in the year. I never realised a video like this existed of a whole unedited race from an onbiatd camera. Just came across it by chance.
Bloody hell! It was 17 year old Sophia Floersch. Suffered a spine fracture, and due to have it operated on. A few more details here... https://www.bbc.com/sport/motorsport/46253184
That is absolutely atrocious. The outcome of that could have been so much worse. Speedy recovery to all involved!
Here's the 'kerb' that caused it, the shoe gives some size perspective. please log in to view this image
The photographer in there got the **** knocked out of him. Lots of lucky people there. It could have been absolute carnage
