Toyota excluded... didn't pass scrutineering. I guess they need to push the limits to keep miles ahead of the game...
Apologies if you have seen this . Just off for dinner , but look at 4 minutes 15 seconds . the stuff before that is good , not seen the stuff after yet .
And another in Misano. Late flourish of performance this season but hes competitive now. Exciting to watch. 4th in the drivers championship. 36 points to Ticktum.
Always had it in him. Observed since his first season in F4. Maybe he has just found a sweet spot in the setup. Pole for both race 2 and 3 tomorrow.
Just hope he's given time to develop away from the spotlight. He's ripe for some cheap PR for a struggling F1 team.
I thought he was in either the Ferrari or Mercedes academy but looks like he's not. Still I can see him starting at Alfa
I don't imagine he needs the backing. I'm sure they're queuing up to sponsor him. Hopefully he's got some sensible management behind him also
Williams......................... I don't think Scheuy snr's junior record was as good as a lot around him, but didn't do him much harm when he got to F1! Won't F1's new super licence system ensure that Mick jnr will have at least one more year in F3/GP2 etc before he can be considered for a move up? Would expect to see him do some FP1 sessions next year with someone.
1st or 2nd in the Euro F3 championship this season will give him enough points to run in F1 free practice, but yes he'd need 40 points for a race seat. 5th in F2 next season would be enough, or another top 3 finish in Euro F3.
Mick still has points from F4. So if he wins he would be eligible for an F1 driver in 2019. He loses those next year though so for the far more sensible 2020 drive he needs a good run in F2.
