It's still there, it's how they'll decide the grid for the sprint race, a banzai lap to decide the starting order of the sprint race. Pole will still be very important as it'll be easier to get pole from, er, pole.
Not sure about that proposal. Firstly, reduced practice is going to make in-season development harder, making it less likely teams can catch up those that are faster. It also means the chances for reserve/development drivers to do FP1 will be lower, as the time is more precious. It also discourages teams from hiring inexperienced drivers who can benefit from more practice time. Williams are having a hard enough time setting the car up with their current drivers. Cutting practice time in half (2 x 1.5 h, 1 x 1 h to 2 x 1 h) will only exacerbate the issue. I also can't make my mind up as to how the sprint race will impact the main event. Does it artificially mix things up as retirements get harshly penalised? Or does it offer more likelihood of a procession on Sunday, if everybody has had 20 laps for their car's pace to show, rather than just 1?
A couple of bullet points caught my eye... the first finally gives me a chance to throw my hat in the F1 ring anyone know what the second is all about? Not much else of note, but here's the full article... https://www.bbc.com/sport/formula1/43801377
I wondered what use the biometric gloves would be , then they said about Sainz crash in Russia 2015 when he was stuck under the barrier . Makes sense now .
I wonder if eventually the heartrate data will make it's way into the broadcast graphics. Might be quite interesting to see.
That's actually a good idea . Not sure how old you are , but back in the 1980's , There was a magazine called GP , and they used to do articles on Drivers heart rates . Pironi etc were on Beta Blockers .
You know , I wouldn't mind betting it may not be that high ? Also , quite often IMHO He seems to just be asking questions in a calm manner .
Yes, the whole 'Lewis just moans' is massively overhyped. Vettel, Alonso et al are just as bad and equally as animated at times. It's probably hard not to get a bit emotional from time to time when doing what they do.
Ok ok. Fair point hammy is pretty calm.... But what will his heart be like when he comes out the pits with the super hard On?
I have been reading that Merc have been blaming things on not being able to get the tyres to work. I wonder if their problems stem for pre season testing where, I think, they only used 1 compound!!! Anyone have any thoughts on Mercs issues or is it just that ferrari have caught up PU wise and the Merc wasn't the best chassis?
Or that the ICE MAN doesn't even have a heart ? Think the Ice Man title is given to the wrong Finnish Driver .
Havnt merc reached 1000bhp? Ferrari have potential to get 1000bhp but turned it down for pre season and the opener. maybe they are up to speed now?
