Best Driver: Hamilton with special mention to Vettel Worst Driver: Massa Best Team: McLaren Worst Team: HRT but they are improving Best Overtake: Alonso's start Best Funny-moment: Brundles comment on the McLaren chasing the bull Most Surprising Result: Hamilton Least Surprising Result: Vettel Special Mention to: The Saubers Race Rating: 7/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: DC and MB Worst BBC commentator/presenter: N/A Best Commentary moment: See above FOM Coverage rating: 8/10
Best Driver: Hamilton Worst Driver: Massa Best Team: McLaren Worst Team: Williams Best Overtake: Button on Webber Best Funny-moment: Massa spinning Most Surprising Result: Button (considering his awful start) Least Surprising Result: Vettel Special Mention to: Perez for getting in the points (and staying there after the race!) Race Rating: 7/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Brundle, really enjoying his post race analysis Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Best Commentary moment: FOM Coverage rating: 5/10
Best Driver: Hamilton Worst Driver: Massa Best Team: McLaren Worst Team: HRT Best Overtake: Alonso's start: very courageous/Button around the outside of Webber into Turn 1 Best Funny-moment: 'Billy' Blundell interview Most Surprising Result: Least Surprising Result: Vettel's win Special Mention to: Paul di Resta Race Rating: 7/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Brundle Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Coulthard was not at his best. He needs to answer Brundles's simple questions and stop stalling! Best Commentary moment: Eddie Jordan put Mark Blundell on the spot and Mark was having none of it. It made me cringe that EJ was asking such things! FOM Coverage rating: /10 4. This was poor. The director persisted in focussing on trivia (pit crews etc.), whilst a fantastic battle for the lead was going on.
Best Driver: Vettel (actually had to work for his win) Worst Driver: Massa Best Team: McLaren Worst Team: Virgin Best Overtake: Liuzzi on Perez Best Funny-moment: Jake: lets talk to schumacher Eddie: erm thats peter schmiecel Most Surprising Result: Alonso taking the lead Least Surprising Result: Vettel winning Special Mention to: Lotus getting into Q2 Race Rating: 6/10 wasnt the best Best BBC commentator/presenter: DC Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Jake Best Commentary moment: see best funny moment FOM Coverage rating: 6/10
vettel drove well but i think hamilton did the better job.he lacked the downforce he needed to get close enough to overtake.infact it was impossible to overtake cars of a similiar speed yesterday.thats why vettel couldnt overtake alonso etc etc.so the only overtaking we saw was at the start,or when the driver infront was on slower tyres.it was a good battle between lewis and vettel tho. and the most suprising result was webber only finishing 4th after starting in pole position on a track he is usually strong on.
Best Driver: Vettel. He took it by the scruff of its neck when he had to overtake after his pit stop and then defended in a slower car against a rampant Hamilton. Worst Driver: Webber. I know that might not be a popular choice, and that others (like Massa) performed badly, but somebody needs to start beating Vettel and, in Spain, that should have been Webber. Best Team: Red Bull. The constant reaction and strategy realignment necessary in this race must have made the victory an absolute thrill ride for the pit wall. Worst Team: Williams. Just Williams. Best Overtake: Vettel on Button, Massa and Rosberg. I know his tyres were vastly superior but I thought it was a crucial part of his victory. Best Funny-moment: what BLS said - when Brundle's linguistic skills deserted him in describing McLaren chasing Red Bull. Most Surprising Result: After dropping to 10th at the start I didn't expect Button to come back to 3rd or to stay there. Least Surprising Result: That McLaren stuck doggedly to their strategies without reacting to what was going on around them. It happened to be the right thing to do this time. Special Mention to: Michael Schumacher. Not bad for a number two driver. Race Rating: 8/10 - quite high because Spain is usually dull and because I enjoyed the not606 live chat thread, neither of which is an objective assessment of the race itself. Best BBC commentator/presenter: Mart Brundell Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Eddie Jordan - doesn't know when to draw the line Best Commentary moment: not race commentary, but the F1 Forum was better this week - a proper interview with Vettel, getting Brundle back in the gang, Blundell's deflection of Jordan's imbecility... pity they weren't in a motorhome but hey-ho. FOM Coverage rating: 6/10 - this is new isn't it? Anyway, I think there's a lot going on during races this season and the FOM directors are struggling to keep up.
Best Driver: Heidfeld Worst Driver: Massa Best Team: McLaren Worst Team: Williams Best Overtake: Alonso at the start Best Funny-moment: Button after the race/Massa spinning Most Surprising Result: Jenson podium Least Surprising Result: Vettel winning Special Mention to: Sauber Race Rating: 7/10 Best BBC commentator/presenter: Martin Brundle Worst BBC commentator/presenter: Jake Humphrey Best Commentary moment: DC telling Brundle he can't tell him what happened to Heikki until he sees the replay FOM Coverage rating: 4/10
