If it were solely michus' decision to stay away then we'd have canceled his contract in a heart beat. What we have done is told him that he is surplus to our requirements and doesn't have a future at our club anymore. I doubt Michu intended to return either and so, I believe, the decision for him to stay away was a mutual one. When we made this decision I assume we thought that Michu would move onto another club and I doubt very much that we thought he'd be apparently doing as little as possible to find one. So, why is Michu still here? Is it because: 1) he's content to sit on his culo and leach the money from us and so isn't looking very hard for a new club. or 2) is he still here because no club on the planet actually wants him, evident by the lack of offers he's received. Here imo, is the real mystery. Why IS Michu still on our books and why hasn't any other club come in for this one time deadly striker? It doesn't actually matter who told who not to return to Swansea, what really matters are the hows and whys he is still a Swansea player. He's had long enough to find a club and clubs have had long enough to come in for him. This is the can of worms we should be looking into: Is Michu still on our books because he's a crook who's found a nice little earner and is clinging onto it like a drowning man clings to a float? or, is it because he's crocked and simply can't play football anymore?. I haven't heard about him going anywhere for a medical. Either way there is a reason why no club other than his Alma Marta wants Michu. I wonder why no club wants him. 18 months ago most would have bitten our hand off if we offered him. What do those clubs know now? what has turned them off Michu? Its a mystery isnt it?
Of course he is taking the piss out of the club big time......He knows fully well nobody is going to pay him what he wants and is laughing his socks off at our soft nature of paying him £160,000 every month for sitting on his arse.......What the club does is neither here or there to me as it's not my money but i would not be so soft and make him earn his money even if he dont play.....I would call his bluff and order him back and i would not care what he says.....just give me the chance to terminate his contract if he dont comply......the club is being led a merry dance......
And then when come backs and makes Amat homesick, pisses off Gomis, "accidently" breaks Williams leg in training, and splits the camp and fanbase in two, Michu will be having the last laugh whilst being paid 40k a week to do it (not that he isn't laughing now)
I know you are deeply passionate about Monk and Swansea even if i do not always like the tone of your posts. One thing we can agree on is Michu is better off not at the club to disrupt the day to day runnings and team ethos of what Huws has built. Even if that 2m is wasted money, its better off that the further away Michu is, the better it is for Swansea
I don't know the legal terms of his contract and I suspect that no one posting here does either. It may be better for eveyone if we can come to an agreement with whichever his new club may be that we would pay a percentage of his wages for the remainder of his contract. Which would mean we would have him off our books and save some money as well. I suspect though the powers that be will have already looked at this.
Why would michu disrupt the running of the club ???? What is purpose of doing that ? Do you think for one minute he would want to do that and how would he do it.? People are reading to much into michu's mind as he has thousands of fans at the club but for him he wants to go back to Spain and he will eventually whether its next week or next season. Michu is a talented player and as good as anything we have and i would not say no if he had wanted to come back and neither would the club. it's very unfortunate that he see's himself elsewhere and that's fair enough but he is milking it now and in a very short time it has to come to a head and i hope he or the club can find him a club. If he dont and there is nobody that wants to take him on loan then i would not just let him stay at home for a season paying him big money, i would make him come back and continue training........He is a far to good a player to leave to his own devices on full pay.......
I can see paying part of his wages an option but i would not want to pay a penny of his wages to play for another club. you either want him on an agreed contract or you dont. Its the principle of it....
Why would he disrupt the running of the club. Lets see: They sacked his best mate Laudrup They have totally alienated him He hates Monk Here's the kicker, they are dragging him back from his cushty life in the sun in his homeland to go and have work in the sunny valleys of Wales. Do you not think that the already infamous Moody Michu will not get even more pissed off and want to actively sabotage the team who are effectively putting a halt to what he wants. Theres a reason Monk sent him away last year and this summer, its so he doesn't affect the team. The dark cloud in Michu might not affect the team, but if he ain't there he definitely won't.
Who says....he has not said any of that and its all made up stuff by fans....show me where he says he hates monk or any of the above. the club have not alienated him at all, the club was all set for his return as reported by monk in the EP, he has alienated himself.
Okay okay..... Swansea may not have alienated him in the sense of treated him badly, but he himself is feeling alienated (think thats fact, else he would have returned, he seemed pretty enthusiastic about Swansea before Laudrups sacking). He might not hate Monk, but if he doesn't want to play for him (hence him looking for a new club and not returning to swansea), i'm guessing he doesn't like Monk either. Obviously as a supporter of the club you will view this as all Michu's fault, which may well be true. I'm not going to argue otherwise as we don't know both sides of the story. However on the above points i noted and even you have conceded he has alienated himself, do you not think he could be a detriment to the team and the spirit within the club if he is dragged back to Swansea. If there is a possibility of that, do you not think it would be better for him to stay away from the club rather than to spite him by bringing him back?
He won't be back even if he hasn't found a new club by the end of the transfer window. I can't see Huw or monk reversing their decision on him. I can't see him sitting down and just taking it easy for 12 months, that will end his career for sure, he even after next season will earn a rather large sum of money from the game. I just wish he'd find a club in the next few weeks where he can play the game he obviously loves, instead of the bile being directed at him we should be wishing him the best of luck, all he has asked is to move away from our club, he hasn't done any damage to us.
He has to come back if no club takes him. what possible reason would you not want him back if you are paying him £40,000 per week.....we would be the laughing stock of world football and the FA would come down on us like a ton of bricks....Even suarez had to return to liverpool even though he never wanted to and was made to train on his own for a number of weeks. He eventually accepted the situation and trained hard and ended up top scorer even though he missed 12 games. If he dont find a club then he will be forced to return....
This is my final post on this matter as we are going round in circles. Well played dai you have broken me
Oh come on Dai this kind of thing happens a lot in the game, there are lots of teams topping up the salaries of players who play elsewhere, this will be no different. The club don't want him back its that simple
Nobody other than the club and michu knows what will happen but i am saying what i would do and think what will happen........I cant see a player as good as michu not wanting professional training to keep him fit....
I think its wrong to pay a lot of money if you dont get the benefit for another club when the player wont take a pay cut to the level that a club can afford.....You cant have it all your own way and hold the club to ransom, There has to be a compromise on his part as well.
Would you walk away from £2m because you felt sorry for an employer who can afford to pay it? Would you for example take a 50% pay cut for no more reason than you think that customers of that business may be upset? Sorry but this is reality, he has a contract that we as a club him as a player agreed to, you can't suddenly breach that contract because it suddenly not to your liking, if he didn't get injured and went on to increase his value wouldn't you be glad to have a contract so we can sell him on? It works both ways
I agree but the reality is michu is a swansea player and if he wants his money every month then he has to work for it ......
