I'm not so bothered about him but chuffed for Macca Meyler and Brady, have a soft spot for Walters tooAs long as Long don't score.
My old man is still pissed off we sold the ****.

Beckham had about 8 in that Greece match he is remembered for before he scored, I always like to mention that. At least Brady steps up to the plate to take them
He disrupted the whole balance of the team, you are right- people don't like to hear it though as Becks is too much of a god like hero to some!it always struck me as bizarre that he got the praise for that last minute free kick and earning us a point when his refusal to stay in position in that game meant he constantly got in everyone else's way and was never on the wing when they wanted to pass to him there. those were the first two goals greece ever scored against us from open play.
Lots of emotion attached to the game but it's one I actually remember perfectly, can't agree with everybody all the time. Are you two serious on Beckham for the Greece game?
He was the only ****er who turned up, he near enough beat Greece on his own. One of the best individual performances I've seen, probably the best in an England shirt.
Unbelievable some of you, forget some things easily.

nope, there we must differ. as i said, he got in everyone else's way. it was selfish and immature. if he'd stayed in position, everyone else would have been able to function. he got in their way and prevented them playing as they normally would. i thought it at the time. it wasn't his usual habit to abandon the wing role. i don't know why he did it. it turned what should have been a comfortable win into a near defeat.
some people only remember the dying seconds.
There was a lot of emotion attached to it so if I was a young lad I would remember it like Quilliam does, he was probably only about 3 or 4 back thennope, there we must differ. as i said, he got in everyone else's way. it was selfish and immature. if he'd stayed in position, everyone else would have been able to function. he got in their way and prevented them playing as they normally would. i thought it at the time. it wasn't his usual habit to abandon the wing role. i don't know why he did it. it turned what should have been a comfortable win into a near defeat.

Nah I was like X at the time, fairly annoyed, if he didn't score right at the end after a lot of bad attempts people would remember that differently. He did work hard though can't argue with that.He was doing that because the team was playing **** and nobody was taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Of course it might seem like a selfish thing to do, but when nobody else is going for it in such a vital game it was the right thing to do. He stepped up and played against Greece single handedly (bar Sheringham I suppose).
Some people like to try and find flaws in anything.

"Tonight is the best moment of my career."
Cue someone ignorantly suggesting the getting to the FA Cup final or promotion to the Prem was better...
