Good call, he was certainly effective, I think it has to be Jose this time, he led by example and was one of the closest to actually scoring.
Plus the pitch invader. The referee had an alright game other than the added time. But he bottled it and got it massively wrong at the end. He may have cost us 2 points.
Reed played well, as did Mane in patches. I think Yoshi deserves a lot of credit for his display playing out of position too.
Maya hasnt let us down this season. Not sure he's been given enough credit for playing out of position.
I love this from Elia - @ELJERO11ELIA: "They came only for one point & they expect not too much from the team - only to defend. Everybody is scared against us"
Speaking of Maya, I think he may be my new favourite person (behind Ronald) - Just to explain the above, it's a Vine posted by Maya saying "OMG! Here is Kenyan shark #victorwanyama"
Young Mr Reed for me, he was excellent both defensively and moving forward Top lad with a great future
Agree with both of you about Maya. Thought he's been very solid overall this season even when played out of position. Glad he signed a new deal, not sure we would get better who's happy to be back up. I never understood why everyone didn't rate him anyway.
Yep, motm was Reed for me. Although special mention to Fonte for the way he rolled up his sleaves in the last twenty minutes and tried to show our attacking players a thing or two. Reminiscent of Coventry on the final day of the Championship season.
Maya appears to be quite good value so far, on Twitter - the amount of replies and RT's he gets from the Japanese is crazy.
http://www.london24.com/sport/footb...ropean_push_after_southampton_point_1_3953666 Suggestion that after the draw against Saints, WHU still have hopes of getting into Europe. Koeman suggests that could be as low as 7th (though I have my doubts about that). No problem with Downing believing they'll get into Europe...there would be something wrong if a player had given up with so many points to play for, but I doubt they will finish above 7-8th. None of the teams at the top are really falling away...they are all just dropping the odd points. Even Big Sam says WHU are getting too many draws. I note it is suggested our strength is at home...but in actual fact we have won as many games away from home as at home.
I defend referees when they make a bad decision or two during a match. However, I can't defend a referee who went 10 minutes or so making bad call after bad call after bad call. Those 10 minutes before half time were awful. Amateur refereeing. And the stoppage time he added was a disgrace.
If RK thinks we could end up as " Low " as 7th , he is quite right IMHO . I have said that I will be over the moon if we finish top 8 , I said this at the start of the season and stand by it . Top 4 ? I honestly don't think this will happen. Top 6 ? I will be ecstatic .
I also usually defend referees on the basis that players are so sophisticated at cheating these days that their job is next to impossible. However, this one I will criticise because it seemed to be that he was deliberately not seeing things; wilfully looking in the opposite direction so that he wouldn't have to make a decision. Speaking to my WH buddy, he agrees which is important because we can't be accused of not liking him simply because decisions didn't go our way. In fact my mate felt that we did actually get the worst of it but that WH got some dodgy decisions against them as well.
He most certainly did not. On the man of the match, Reed was great, thought Davis was tremendous first half especially, and Maya very good all game.
