Udinese would always be too strong for us, but sorry we couldn't get a goal for the fans. Hope Adkins got something from the match. Bit more match fitness for the players.
Your Indifferent!!............as I said in earlier post, very concerned about lack of signings, Norwich signed 8 last summer. I'm not saying sign players willy nilly but Cortese's hard ball negotiations could be be our downfall. We've had 3 and a bit months now to identify our weaknesses and get reinforcements in, tonights result could be a blessing in that he might get his finger out. Not being pessimistic but its only just over a year and 3 months since we got out of league 1, not all but some of those players still in our squad are not going to cut it in the Prem and I know I keep harping on about it but with 2 CB's we have no chance
We will. Nigel has been saying he is looking for deals all along and even though a lot of Twitterizens probably think they are the only person to notice we have two centre backs, Nigel knows too. We are going to lose 4-0 and more multiple times this season so now might be a good time to learn how to deal with it. Not even a little bit worried.
I'll agree if we get to the end of the window without having strengthened. We both agree the current squad probably isn't good enough. The difference between us is that you would like to see players brought in ASAP, whereas I don't mind waiting and trust the right decisions will be made.
If anyone's interested, PSG's dream team is currently 2-0 down to Lorient, spearheaded by class like Jeremie Aliadiere.
You got torn apart...dosen't suprise me. Some idiot has commented on a spelling mistake I made..Why?? Been a member on here and the old BBC 606, quite good on here at first, though you didn't get much banter from other fans. Don't tend to to comment on here much now but Mr Nice was talking sh!te so I responded.
Well... I would say it was a waste of money, but I enjoy watching our lads at St Mary's on a beautiful day like today. The game itself... Well. If we play like that against City we'll get thronked about 8-0. If Udinese can split us apart like that, then City will find no trouble in doing the same. Not sure if 4-3-3 is right for us. Suits a few of our players, like Puncheon and JWP, but overall we lack the pace, both physically and technically, to take advantage of that fluid formation. Indeed, not only does it lead to us being less incisive in the attacking sense, it also leaves quite alot of room for us to be split apart ourselves, especially down the flanks - exacerbated by the lack of pace.
Kept possession of the ball well, but the support play and movement up front was a bit worrying, So easy for Udinese to break us down, two goals were fantastic but this is a quality team so we shouldn't have given them that much time to have that shot. 3rd goal was dreadful defensively, Kelvin came out to collect the ball but then went back, leaving the defenders in no mans land. I am a bit worried with Kelvin, his distribution is going to cause us far to many problems this year. Anyhow, this was always going to be the ultimate test, this will give Nigel a clear understanding of who is good enough and what to do in order to counteract a very good opposition. Special praise for Nathaniel Clyne, what a great player he is, burst forward not afraid to take on 1/2 players at a time, and has a decent delivery. Jay Rod is starting to show his class, very good at getting past players and looks a threat when balls are delivered in the right areas in the penalty box.
Were you at the game then? What was Davis like? I heard he was class. Also is Gazza anywhere near the first choice spot?
Good post....we desperately need some players with pace, Lens sounds ideal. If not him tapping up agents for other players sounds good to me, encouraged that Cortese is getting the gist of how the footballing transfer market works at this level.
